Are Pakistan gna go with Afridi and Taufeeq opening the batting!? I mean i kno Afridi can be explosive opening the innings but that is in ODI's, tests are completely different. Surely this is a risk and cud go both ways, either he scores amazingly well and gets Pakistan off to a flyer or he goes cheaply trying to hoof the ball for 6! Pakistan cud either be 100-0 after 15 overs or 0-1 after 1 ball!

and Naved is injured...and Salman Butt is "injured" too...Younis Khan who dropped more catches than the no. of runs he made has been retained...I think Pakistan team management has gone nuts....

ridiculous shots played by Ganguly and Laxman...though good bowling by Razzaq and Afridi in the last spells...but those two elegant players need to know that alongwith elegance runs too need to flow...I am a fan of both of them and it hurts to see them throw their wickets like that...i think they need to be given a bit of heat under the seat by bringing Yuvraj and Kaif in the squad...Yuvi is there...add Kaifu...

enjoyed Sehwag, Dravid and Tendulkar's batting...Gambhir looked good too...hope Balaji and Pathan can help Karthik add 50-70 tomorrow...

Whoever they go with, the pressure will be on Umar to stay there seeing as he will be the only real specialist opener they have. The smart choice wud be to go with Younis Khan as being a number 3 he will have come in and seen off the new ball numerous times.

If India can muster 70-80 more runs, we can be in a commanding position!!! Our bowling is not too bad. 2nd innings of Mohali happens very rarely!!

Its going to be a exciting day! If Pakistan can come out and bowl India out for less than 400 then the game may very well be up for grabs depending on how well the top order Pakistan batsmen cope with the spin of Kumble and Harbhajan. If India can score 400+ they have the game safe but if not, Pakistan have a great chance. Could be a deciding day in the match! who knows?

Afridi will be a factor u know..., If he will come up opening and blast away like Sehwag did (or even aggressively..), Ind bolwers need to take him before he gets his breather...

I think Pakistan will go with the old ball a little longer which means Pathan and Balaji have a chance to go for the spinners. Let's see what their strategy is--hopefully not to kill time. I am sure they will try to play out the first session without losing a wicket and then go out on the attack. Everyone till Harbhajan (not Kumble) can blitz the ball around.

I have to say its been a great topic.. I think if india scores 70 more runs and dec... then let pakistan bat we will have a good chance... if ifran,Balji,Kumble and harbanjan singh can bowl excellent we can be in a good position... Pakistan of course isn't gonna fall down easly.. we all saw that in the last test...if we can get 1 or 2 very imp wickets in the early session we can win...Afridi is gonan open thats what the commentars said... Inzy is under pressure already because we are buliding a size of a lead and if we add around 70 more the pressure will be on the pakistani's but that doesn't mean india just relaxes... they still gotta play very aggresively with pakistan in there bowling and batting...Hopefully What i just said happens and ifran and balji pick up 2 or more wickets in the early session and then kumble and harbanjan comes in and pick up few more we will be in the driving seat..Remember this pitch later on in the match will come in favour of the spinners so the seam bowlers should bowl bout 10-15 overs and let spinners come into effect
