Pakistan in Sri Lanka

Damn, and in my FC team i contemplated replacing him for Gul.

I kept Gul though.

poor batting from all Pakistani star batsmen but what a comeback from Pakistan.Mohammad Asif great bowling from him again.excellent performance from the young fast bowler. i hope Pakistan batsmen will now play like professionals and will win the match for Pakistan after a very good comeback provided by bowlers.

hope they win inshalla. btew did anyone see razzaqs bowled the wicket fell forward lik it does in cricket 05 lol

Pakistan on upper hand after Asif and Razzaq got Sri Lanka to 73/8, looking forward to tomorrows Play.

Pakistan haven't got the upper hand yet remember Sri Lanka scored 279 & now 73-8 than there is really something for the bowlers & on the other hand Pakistan were all out on 170 & atm Sri Lanka lead by 182 runs with 2 wickets remaining & its not too easy to face Muralitharan on Day 4 or 5,Pakistani batsmens have to work really hard to win this one

SL in good position atm, 200 is a difficult score to get, Murali is too good a bowler for Paks.Hope SL win and Murali get MOS.

Asif seems to have learnt alot from T A Shekhar in the MRF pace foundation. He was sent to India last yr by PCB to improve his performance and the results are there to be seen, he's now more in line with Indian pacers who lays stress on line and length rather than on sheer speed (Sami,Zahid,M Akram, Khalil etc)

He's the among the top 5 promissing bowler from Asia.

1 Munaf Patel
2 Sreesanth
3M Asif
4Maharoof
5RP singh.

Pakistan in a very good position at lunch 90-1 need only 93 more runs to win with 9 wickets in hand.
and yea Asif is far better then those 4 bowlers in the list.

Asif easily tops that list atm. 24 wickets in three matches. :hpraise

Munaf is the best off all of them, Asif can't match Munaf's awesome speed, also Munaf is stongly built and is an excellent tear away fast bowler.

Except for Maharoof, all 4 in Munaf,Sreesanth,RPS and Asif are product of our prestigious MRF pace foundation. TS Shekhar seems to be doing great job there!

Pak win the series 1-0.

To be fair, it should have been 1-1.Sl were unlucky to not to have won first test match and their batsmen lost the second test match for them

Munaf maybe fast and all that, but its the results that matter. Asif has delivered the results. How many bowlers get a 10-fer in their 5th test match?

Unlucky how? It only rained 30 minutes on the fifth day.

80 minutes.

Over 39.5 Muralitharan to Mohammad Yousuf, no run, flighted ball on the off stump, batsman sweeps and misses, ball strikes the pad and loud appeal, Harper turns it down again, once more a poor decision from Harper

OVER 21.3 Muralitharan to Mohammad Yousuf, no run, flighted ball on the off stump, batsman sweeps and misses, ball strikes the pad and loud appeal, Harper turns it down again, once more a poor decision from Harper
And another-

23.5 Muralitharan to Imran Farhat, no run, pitched up on the leg stump, straightens, batsman beaten and ball strikes the pads, loud appeal but again Harper turns it down, thats hitting the middle stump, very poor umpiring from Harper!

.

Munaf will get plenty in his career later on.So far Munaf has played on batting friendly pitch and that too against a major cricket power Eng.

Asif did very well against Sl, but when he came accross major cricket nation in Australia, he was wicketless and got hammered.

Everybody knows his debut was terrible. Which is why he was dropped from the team and didn't come back until he had proven himself worthy of selection against England when he took 10 wickets in a warmup match. But he has been bowling great since his comeback.

I'm not saying that Patel won't be good or better than Asif, but at the moment he isn't and it would be ridiculous to say otherwise.

Anyhoo, congratulations to Pakistan on their third straight test series win. :happy

Asif should be MOTM and MOTS.

Wierd how all umpires were Australians. Poor Murali. :p

I think losing a series 1-0 is far better than losing it 2-0, if Pakistan had ended up losing both test matches then some ppl might have questioned their earlier win, in particulary the 2-0 series win over England on dodgy home pitches.
wat u think now mate.i think you said this for SL :p and England drawn the test series with India in India with a weak side(what u think about that?).

Great win for Pakistan and very good bowling performance and good batting performance in 2nd inngs.well done Pakistani team we are proud of you.
Congrats to all Pakistani fans and hope they will continue playing good cricket in future too(inshALLAH). :D
