I.H:Hello and welcome to xTRA Cover. Well what an opening match we had to offer today at the M.C.G. With me is Dean Jones. So firstly Deano..well at 1 point all of Australia's recognised batsmen were gone and were 69/5 in just 17 Overs!!
D.J: Well it was a great comeback by the Aussies especially requiring more than 8 runs per over with only Symonds and Lee there. Lee struck the ball hard and it ended up being a nai-bitter!
I.H:Well let's see the scorecard Deano:

cricket0720070111211629hl3.png

D.J: Well yes the top order not contributing enough. They got starts, Hayden 20, Ponting a quickfire 19, but then the collapse started as the Aussies lost a couple of quick wickets under pressure of the new ball. But then Brad Hogg stayed at the crease a while allowing Andrew Symonds the time to start building a steady innings. Then Brett Lee came in and started hitting from ball 1!

I.Healy: Well, lets see the Bowling Figures.
cricket0720070111211635ow5.png

D.J: Yeah great figures. Unfortunat for Hoggard and Tremlett only bowled a few overs dew to cramp. Andrew Flintoff pick of the bowlers for me. 3 Maidens against Australia is too hard, but he did and bowled superbly right at the death. Sajid Mahmood going expensive in his last couple of overs. A good day for Monty Panesar and Paul Collingwood. And then Kevin Pietersen and Bell chipping in with a few overs.

And now Tony Greig is there with the Presentation Ceromony....

(With Tony Greig)

T.G:Welcome everyone to the Presentation Ceremony of what has been an excellent contest right-up until till the death. England just won in the end!

T.G: So firstly i would like to call the losing captain Ricky Ponting.

T.G: Well Ricky, so close in the end but yet so far.

Yeah, were out of it at 1 stage but then Andy and Brett brought us back in it. But the main thing is we tried our best. Full credit to England for the win.--Ricky Ponting

T.G: You also had England under a lot of pressure at 54/3 but then Kevin Pietersen came in and destroyed your bowling attack.

Yeah Kevin played a great knock and he manouvered the ball very well. Glenn had a great day with the ball, it was a dusty wicket so a lot of bounce was there for Glenn--Ricky Ponting

T.G: Thanks Ricky and good luck in your match against New Zealand.
Thanks mate!-Ricky Ponting

T.G: And now i would like to call the winning captain Andrew Flintoff!

T.G: Well Andrew, finally a win on this tour. Are you relieved?
Yeah, very much. This win is going to release a bit of pressure in our camp. And most credit to the boys for having a great game.-Andrew Flintoff

T.G: You had Australia all done and dusted, but then Andrew Symonds and Brett Lee came. Did that give you a bit of a scare near the death?.
Yeah they really piled on the runs which we were getting more nervous about as the game got in the later stages but we held our nerve and in the end we prevailed.
T.G: Thanks Andrew and good luck in the next match.
Thanks Tony. P.S: Everyone, the crowd, The Barmy Army have been singing loud and clear and have raised our spirits. Thanks a lot-Andrew Flintoff

T.G: And now i will present the Man of the Match award...there were lots of candidates for the award but in the end the Man of the Match award goes to Kevin Pietersen for a match winning 137!!

T.G: Kevin, great knock did you find it easy?
Well obviously no-one can find the Aussie bowling attack easy. The pitch was a batsman-friendly wicket. All i did was hit the bad balls and play the good ones.-Kevin Pietersen
T.G: Without Shane Warne in the team, did you find it easier?
(Haha) Well there is a huge difference inbetween a Test and a One-Day match. There is more time in a test. But overall i found it just a bit more easier.-Kevin Pietersen
T.G: Well Kevin you are our Man Of The Match today and you recieve a cheque of $2000 AUS Dollars.
Thanks very much Tony.-Kevin Pietersen
T.G Back to you in the studio Ian.

Tahnks Tony well that's it for today.. we'll be back with AUSTRALIA VS NEW ZEALAND. Till then from all of us--BYE-BYE!

Welcome To The 1st Castle Test Between Pakistan And South Africa At Centurion

Robin Jackman: Hello there and welcome to the 1st Castle test at SuperSport Park, Centurion. Here we have cricketing experts; Rameez Raja, Aamir Sohail, Barry Richards and Kepler Wessels. So firstly Barry, South Africa are in great form with a 4-0 whitewash in the ODI's followed up by a 2-1 win in the Test Series. Will Pakistan be any difference?
B.R: Well there was a bit of rain yesterday and the pitch could become a-bit damp and could bounce low at times.
R.J: Well Rameez, what do you think about Mohammad Asif.
R.R: Well yes it is his comeback since being accused of carrying steroids. It will be interesting to see how he does.
R.J: Well that's all the time we have here because Daryl Cullinen is there with the Pitch Report.
D.C: Thanks Robin. Well yes as you can see the pitch is quite damp following up from yesterday. But the weather today is great. Blue sky with a lot of sun. If i won the toss i would bat first.

Pakistan have to be careful against SA's quality pacers especially Pollock. Its going to be bit tough but Gud luck to both the teams ;)

PAKISTAN VS SOUTH AFRICA LIVE FROM CENTURION

THE TOSS
R.Raja:
So Greame Smith has won the toss and elected to bat first.

South African Innings:
South Africa didn't start very well after losing captain Greame Smith and Jaques Kallis in the first 6 overs. AB De Villiers hung in and played some nice cover drives and Herschelle Gibbs were playing Naved-Ul-Hasan's short deliveries very well. Shahid Nazir was brought in to the attack and immediatly got the breakthrough. AB De Villiers edging 1 to slip. Danish Kaneria wasn't providing enough turn so Gibbs and the other batsmen found him very easy to play.
South Africa started off very nicely with Herchelle Gibbs playing some decent cover drives. The Pakistani bowlers are struggling with their line and length. AB De Villiers then went for a well played 41 after he was fooled by Danish Kaneria's googly and went straight throught the gate. Mark Boucher then stepped up and built partnerships with Shaun Pollock and Paul Harris. The tail was wagging.
A well deserved century by Mark Boucher

Paul Harris also made a half-century as great support to Mark Boucher as South Africa piled on the runs.

Here's the South African Scorecard
PAK 1ST INNINGS

Pakistan started very well without losing a wicket until tea. Imran Farhat had played a few classy drives, and also Mohammad Hafeez but he was struggling a bit with the pace of Ntini and Nel. After Tea Hafeez went after being struck infront plumb. Also Yasir Hameed came out and scored quickly. Him and Farhat were looking unstoppable! But with 20 minutes to go till the close, Yasir Hameed got 1 form Kallis which kept low and unfortunatly was out. With 1 over remaining till the close, Farhat slashed outside off-stump and got a faint edge. So Pakistan ending the day with a couple of wickets

Pakistan's Scorecard at the Close of play-Day 2
DAY 3
Pakistan managed to get to 333 All Out with a handy 93 from skipper Inzamam-Ul-Haq. Younis Khan also provided strong support with 37. Shaun Pollock took 4/87.
But during Lunch-Close, South Africa had the upper hand. Skipper Graeme Smith got out after a beauty from Mohammad Asif which swung 3 yards. Smith offered no stroke and he knew he was out. Then came Jaques Kallis who played very quickly and at the other end AB De Villiers was also supporting Kallis. Both played commanding strokes right up until the close Jaques Kallis ending the day on 96!!

A great century by Jaques Kallis
DAY 4
South Africa started off where they left off today as Jaques Kallis reached his century with a classical cover drive. But AB De Villiers went after being plumb i front by Shahid Nazir. But Pakistan's nightmares were to continue as Herchelle Gibbs also joined the party with a quickfire 66, but was then out by part-time bowler Faisal Iqbal as he got a faint edge to slip. After Jaques Kallis made his 150, South Africa declared.
southafrica2ndinningswp0.png

Pakistan needing 454 for the victory didn't start off very well. They lost the top 3 batsmen for just 59. But then Younis and Inzamam yet again steadied the ship as Pakistan reached 109/3 at Day 4's close.
pakistan2ndinningsclosecf5.png

DAY 5
Pakistan started Day 5 off in good style as Younis and Inzamam reached half-centuries. But then things started to go wrong.Younis's hooking problem continued as Paul Harris banged 1 in shorted, simple catch to Shaun Pollock. Then Faisla Iqbal played all over his stumps for 13. But Inzamam was still trying desperatly at the other end to score. Then Kamran Akmal went after being caught at short-leg. by an amazing diving catch by AB De Villiers. But then the tail couldn't hold on as Inzamam went for a nice 80. Paul Harris taking 5/87, his first five wicket haul in Test Cricket.
