Pre Match Show
(With Sanjay Manjrekar & Pommie Mbangwa)

P.M: Hello there and welcome to the first Super 8 game in this inaugural World Twenty20 Tournament. Today's game is Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka at the Wanderers In Johannesburg. Beside me sit Sanjay Manjrekar, Waqar Younis and Rangit Fernando. Welcome guys. First of all a question for you Sanjay, looking at the current form, who will have the upper-hand in this match?

S.M: Well if you are looking at the current form, Sri Lanka have played 1 more game than Pakistan. The strong point for the Sri Lankans has been the destructive opening pair of Tharanga And Jayasuriya. If one of those gets going then it is going to be difficult to get them out in the later stage of the Innings.

W.Y: Yeah what I have noticed is that Jayasuriya looks very well adapted and has adapted very quickly to this suggesting that this is his natural game. As for Pakistan, Salman Butt has being struggling a bit but Imran Nazir...I mean he is a very talented player and his 38 was vital in the 4 wicket win over Scotland.

P.M: Right then, lets have a look at the teams.

R.F: It is a surprise to see young spinner Lokarachchi not getting a game. Spin plays a crucial part in Twenty20's and now Sri Lanka will have to use Jayasuriya and Dilshan to utilize the conditions.

P.M: Well Waqar, who is Sohail Tanvir. I have not heard much about him.

W.Y: Me neither. But he looks a young prospect. It is good to see that Pakistan are bringing youth into the side and not just sticking with the same old players. Misbah is back as Yousuf is not here which in my opinion is quite a good move by the selectors becasue with the upcoming South Africa tour, Misbah has his chance to impress the selectors. The same goes to Tanvir.

P.M: We will have to hold it there guys as David Lloyd is down there with the Pitch Report...

Pitch Report

Pitchreport.jpg

D.L: Thanks Pommie. Well this pitch looks very very similar to the one where New Zealand and Sri Lanka played on. It is very wet and the climate is very cloudy. This will favour the bowlers more as the ball will swing more at times and also the ball will dip low and might aswell keep low on occasions. If I won the toss....I would defiantly bowl first.

P.M: Right that is it from the Pre-Match Show. We will take a quick break and when we come back, we will have the coverage live but just before you leave....Have a look at this Teaser. :p
