he said in an interview that a man was about to shoot him but he recognised him and deliberatly shot at his car's tyres

Yeah would have been a shocker if he had shot Akram. However one thing I will say is huge respect to Akram, who (based on a tweet I read) after being shot at on the way to a coaching session, continued and went to the stadium to coach the kids.

Waseem Akram's tweet on that accident.

Wasim Akram ready to coach boys. Media creates unnecessary hype and some trolls here get benefit from it lol. Anyhow, Bright future holds for Pakistan Insha'ALLAH

I just saw Wasim Akram coaching the young lot, working really hard and he was feeling as good as anyone. A Patriot Cricketer for sure and a Huge Legend. Its good that PCB has taken initiatives to start work right from the grass-root level so that the players have the right kind of confidence they need in bigger avenues as and when they progress in their careers. A Commendable effort by PCB and Wasim Akram for sure

These Akram stories were interesting and kinda scary lol But good to know he is ok and they need to use him in coaching Pakistan's young pace bowlers, who just are not the quality of bowlers from the 80s or 90s.

This: I was mentioning about. Wasim Akram just commented regarding Younis Khan as a Batsman

Regarding Younus Khan, Akram said Younus does not get the recognition in world cricket that he deserves. ”He is as good as any player in the world when it comes to Test cricket. If you talk about the current great Test batsmen such as AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli, Michael Clarke or Steve Smith then Younus deserves to be mentioned,” he said. Source: Pakpassion.net Interview

Pakistan Cricket Team falls down to the 4th Rank in the test rankings of ICC. Pakistan ignoring so many series cause them this loss. Where they were slowly developing and after 3rd would have gone to 2nd but felt down to 4th just because of not playing the series.
The victory of England in the Ashes helped them to rank up and made Pakistan fall down.

I don't know why you guys take the Test rankings so seriously. They don't make any sense whatsoever.

we've already talked about this in another thread, the icc rankings are a big waste of time

Opinions differ, For some people they can be a waste of time, for some they are not. They hold the value because of these rankings things govern in World Cricket Tournaments. They may have flaws but they hold the position

the fact that rankings are important for the three ICC tournaments is absolutely ridiculous and show some of the more ridiculous parts of the ranking system. Scotland are a team with ODI and T20 status yet even if they couldn't qualify either of the World Cups through the ranking table because the ICC can't be bothered to actually list them on the rankings table for no apparent reason. There's also the fact that for the World T20 the rules literally say that "the top 8 on the ICC T20 rankings qualify to the "Super 10 round" (the actual competition) automatically unless one of those eight are an associate or affiliate member, in which case the next best full member will qualify". There's also the fact that a team can withdraw from a series if they are qualified without any problems - not the fault of Pakistan, but the fault of the ICC who haven't introduced policies sanctioning people that try to game the new very important ranking tables.

Nothing to do with Pakistan, but I think that it shows the ranking tables being important is just a stupid idea.

I think, based on current form, Pakistan could have beaten West Indies without many difficulties.
