Saying Misbah coward is bit unfair my friend, We all know he has quite limitations as a batsman on seaming tracks, despite that I guess he can count on his willpower and determination to go good abroad as well. Even if he retires or perform poorly we cant just write off his contributions

I echo Rehan.

It is true he has played a lot of his cricket at the UAE, but then again he didn't have the opportunities and if he personally and physically isn't feeling up to it, he shouldn't be forced to. I personally would like Misbah ul Haq to continue playing till the important away tours, next season but it is his choice, and if he does decide to retire before, I respect his decision and his legacy.

Shoaib fared great bowling-wise in his last test. Deserves applause on his decision and team effort. Hope to see him working for the team in ODI and T20

Misbah has played a lot of his reasonable knocks in UAE, so unless he plays and performs in those important away tours against England, Australia & New Zealand, he isn't a Pakistan Test cricket great.

Wait What O.o

If he just left now, knowing we have important away tours next year, he would truly be a coward in my eyes despite a sensational career. I know that Younis Khan won't be retiring any time soon so it's just Misbah, who I think should not retire yet.

He is quite fit, probably one of the fittest in the team, if he does retire, then he will truly coward out of the big uns.

Piss OFF!

how dare a 40 year old man who's played international cricket for his entire life think of retiring, he must play on for ever!!!

A team who has been unable to play test cricket on home soil has earned no.2 place in the Rankings with consistent performance under the leadership of a cool and calm captain. Misbah as player and captain does have his limitations but the best thing he has brought in team is the stability in the test side which the team most needed. Big players like Ponting and Tendulkar played till age 38 i guess, Hayden was old as well but what a fitness he had. So is the case with Misbah which is pretty simple. As long as you are fit and want to contribute for the team give it a go and don't think about media type stuff, They can surely be never happy.

At our cricket club 79 yr old Gerald Johnston is still playing ( when the skipper's short ) and he loves every minute of it !

Misbah still has plenty more time to continue doing what he loves and is very good at ! :yes

And just to confirm....

Your Pro v Our Pro

1.Your Pro I guess, comes from a foreign soil
Our Pro lives local, doesn't bother with suntan oil
Your Pro is young, fit, the darling of your crowd
Our Pro's getting on, has arthritis, but he's still proud.

2.Your Pro bowls well with vigour and zest
Our Pro just bowls and hopes for the best
And when your Pro bats, the crowds in a trance
Our Pro bats eleven, likes to give the rest a chance.

3. I bet your Pro gets runs and wickets galore
when our Pro last got a wicket, his hamstrung he tore!
And I know your Pro runs, like an Olympic champ
Our Pro can't run fast, cause he goes down with the cramp.

4. But let's look at the 'Pro's and then the Cons',
in a few years, will your Pro be gone?
Is he like Clint Eastwood, the young hired gun
'For a few dollars more', will he up and run?

5. Not so our Pro. No! He'll never leave
been at his club 50 years, wears his heart on his sleeve,
Now what price would you pay, for service like that?
Yes he's our Pro and if you meet him,
please...Tip your hat! :yes

Ricky Ponting hails Yasir Shah as a best spinner currently and has said that he will become more lethal as he advances in his career. Ponting is truly impressed with Shah's talent.

I feel that this would be another huge booster for Yasir Shah after getting a lot of attention from Shane Warne, now another legend is praising the master-class talent.

Younis Khan announces ODI retirement | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo

It is a very intelligent play by the Legend, forcing PCB through constant pressure from media and remarkable performance in Test Cricket, PCB inducted him and right after he announces retirement. I would support his decision as it is rare in our cricket to get proper farewells atleast Younis will get one today Insha'ALLAH and very deserved one. Legends like Javed Miandad, Wasim, Waqar, Anwar, Saqlian never got in farewell what they truly deserved. Good move Younis :thumbs

BCCI officially invited Pakistan to play in India: Shaharyar - Cricbuzz

India-Pak all set for December showdown?

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially invited Pakistan to play its 'home' series in India in December, Shaharyar Khan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, said on Saturday (November 14). Shaharyar told the media in Lahore that he was given a formal proposal by his Indian counterpart Shashank Manohar during a phone call on Friday.

"Shashank Manohar called me up on Friday evening and told me they have got clearance from their government to play against us. But he said they wanted to play the series in India and not in the UAE," Shaharyar said. "Manohar also said that the Indian board would provide the best security to our team and schedule the matches in places like Mohali and Kolkata where there is no problem at playing a Indo-Pak match."

PCB want to hold the series in UAE, but the venue doesn't seem to be a deal-breaker, and surely will be worked out.

PCB is quite right to insist BCCI to play with us in UAE. There is no harm in it when you were already there for the first season of IPL. Pakistan should not visit India for the 3rd time in the series, Its their turn to give the favor back.

PCB are of course free to hold out for a series in UAE, and it should not be a deal breaker. However the point is still that would it not be better to have the series in India, where an Indo-Pak series will be an out and out sell-out and there is more revenue to be made, instead of playing in UAE which will still be empty stands.

Granted it would not be a 'home' series for Pakistan, but you know, I see the sense in holding the series in India.

However PCB as I said, one can see where they are coming from, and they are not wrong in wanting the series in UAE.

I think it would be fair for PCB to forgo the revenue aspect and focus more having the series in UAE to called it a Home Series. If I let aside the revenue aspect, It would be great to see India batting on those pitches where Pakistani spinners have been kings for years first Ajmal and now Yasir Shah. Indian batting is particularly best for spinners and people would love to see that contest on those pitches, On TV if not in the stands. Though I have a feeling that crowd will be there for Pak India matches in UAE, It cant be as large as playing in India but you have got to take a start somewhere. England, South Africa and Australia has come to UAE for the series, There shouldn't be any harm for India to come there and have a full-fledged series with us

I agree with both PokerAce and Rehan.

India should go to UAE and play against Pakistan. It will be a good contest for Indians with the Pakistan's spin attack. Even India has a good spin attack. So, it would be good to see the contest between them.

But, crowd will be the disappointing factor. In India, I am sure every stadium will be housefull for especially Ind VS Pak match. It would be a shame if there won't be even half as crowd in UAE for this awesome contest.

Let's wait and see what will happen.
