I think it would be fair for PCB to forgo the revenue aspect and focus more having the series in UAE to called it a Home Series. If I let aside the revenue aspect, It would be great to see India batting on those pitches where Pakistani spinners have been kings for years first Ajmal and now Yasir Shah. Indian batting is particularly best for spinners and people would love to see that contest on those pitches, On TV if not in the stands. Though I have a feeling that crowd will be there for Pak India matches in UAE, It cant be as large as playing in India but you have got to take a start somewhere. England, South Africa and Australia has come to UAE for the series, There shouldn't be any harm for India to come there and have a full-fledged series with us

I think most will agree that this generation is nowhere near the previous generation when it comes to playing spin. I think Yasir Shah, will trouble the Indian batsmen a fair deal, if not have some dominance over them. Having said that the contest I will look forward to is not so much Pak Spinner vs India Batsmen, but Pak Spinners vs Ind Spinners. In Ashwin, Mishra and Jadeja, India have a good trio going. So it will still be a gripping contest.

I am surprised that BCCI invited PCB to play in India after the recent hooplah.

About the venue, if BCCI doesn't get approval to play in UAE, why can't this show be taken to England. It would still be a sell out there. English people love test cricket, and while England not being involved will obviously be a problem, but plenty of expats there to fill in.

Also England offers no obvious advantage to either side. Playing in India would help India no doubt, but England will be quite neutral. If anything I see it as advantage Pakistan as India's spin is negated, and the conditions will help Pakistani seamers.

England option is quite better as well if it can be called as Pakistan's home series and if both boards earns a good share..

I think it's a bit difficult to play cricket in England in December, isn't it?
P.S What's the problem with playing in the UAE?

You're right I think the Indian board hasn't shown this concern that they aren't touring UAE due to empty stands revenues etc... Their view doesn't seem logical at all inviting Pakistan to India after showing the poorest hospitality when the PCB owners went there. Sad and unfortunate.....

I am not sure on this, but I think it has something to do with the fixing scandal that broke out in 2000. In the 90s the India team used to play regularly in Sharjah, but after 2000, it was found that Sharjah and that region was the hotbed of betting and fixing activities. After that India has never played any tournament in Sharjah or the region. I think BCCI still wants to avoid sending players to Sharjah in case they are contacted by or exposed to bookies, in an environment not directly under the control of any major cricket board.

Then why did they play the IPL in Sharjah?

I think this sums up pretty well by Osman Sammiuddin, As IPL was played there as well and the under-19 team also came as mentioned but importantly IPL first edition was there

Personally, We are talking about UAE and England, I'd say Pakistan would be pretty ready to host India in our home ground particularly Lahore provided their govt has flexible policies. Anyhow

No, that shouldn't happen.

Then why did they play the IPL in Sharjah?

Yes IPL was an exception. They first wanted SA, but they were unable to do it at such short notice. Also unlike when IPL2 was fully played in SA, with IPL 2014 they bailed out of UAE as soon as they could only playing the first 15 days or something.

Actually the IPL in Sharjah shows just how much BCCI doesn't want to play in the region. In 15 years thats the only cricketing engagement BCCI has had with UAE and the region, and that too when it was a last resort and even then they didn't fully commit to the tournament in the region and bailed out as soon as they could and moved it back to India mid-way.

Its quite clear BCCI doesn't trust the region for cricket. You are also right about England and it would be too cold for cricket. SL could be an option as SL are away touring NZ at the time. SA is not an option as they are playing Eng in December. Maybe even Australia as their series with NZ will be done by then. Maybe even WI. Who knows.

I do think its a little unfair on Pakistan, who can't play in Pakistan, but have done a good job of getting a useful second base going for their cricket, and now BCCI wants them to change that for this one series, which could be disruptive. But BCCI really does want to avoid playing cricket in the region again.

No, that shouldn't happen.

Agreed, Similary we should not visit there because security and dignity risk is high there in India as well. I think BCCI should come up with their official version as well that what is the problem actually playing in UAE
