The media on both the sides is bad. Pakistan, a little worse. Players? At least till the Akhtar era, I felt the Pak players took themselves too seriously and focussed more on themselves than the team. The current gen of Pak cricketers are clearly mentally shod and while they might beat India in the CT, as a limited overs side, Pakistan are ages behind India.

I tend to disagree here, As far as bad about media hype and stuff like that, I see Indian media far at the worst side especially when they loose to Pakistan. Pakistani media though try to copy the indian one instead of getting itself original like before and therefore going worse day by day in my opinion. Akhtar played with lot of heart and soul against every team. He was misunderstood by many. He was clean and gave so many match winning performances. In his initial days, Indian batsmen used to have nightmares of him and He always proved dangerous against any World team till his retirement in my view. That era was golden for Pakistan.

At the current stage, the characters have gone which made Pakistan supreme in the ODI side. Agree with the ODI aspect of yours... Pakistan needs to adopt with modern day cricket though.. The side is definitely looking ages behind. Though I ain't a fan of the way modern cricket is shaping up and the culprit are T20 leagues and too much commercialization. Oh well.. thats a different subject altogether... But I don't rule out a return of Pakistan's best side eventually in days to come because Pakistan is realizing that they are quite behind in the one day format at least. And Realization is the first step towards betterment.

We are more concerned about Younis and Misbah greatness farewell and heroics than the fake leaked news. Even if it is the case, There isn't a worst possible time as reported in media article. Its his decision as by PCB if he wants to. Thats none of an issue. So Lets focus on the test match

Pakistani counterparts on the media outlets can definitey beat Indian ones in terms of who really the worst in the world is!

Misbah-Ul-Haq's wife, Uzma Khan: "At the start he would give me Rs 10,000 to run the house and that used to be enough for us back then. And he got me a car so that I could travel to university, where I was doing my Masters, so I always had freedom too. But I did keep hearing - though not from his friends and family - that he was never picked for the national team after our marriage, and it was my kismet that was bringing him down."

In some subcontinental cultures, there is this idea that a bride brings her luck to her new home. "So I would blame myself for it. I would pray after Namaz, after Tahajjud, that God give him everything he had wished for. All I prayed for was for him to get back in the team."

"At the start of 2007 he asked me to just give him six months or so. He told me he didn't want to go to any functions or weddings or birthdays. Just wanted to focus on his cricket.

"He had bought me a Sony video camera for our anniversary the previous year. He would take that camera to nets every day, record his batting, then come home and just go through that day's video during the night. That's all he did every night."

"At that same time he had put in our savings to buy a car from someone, and that guy ran off with the money. That year Misbah was playing in England, and I couldn't go and meet him because we just had Rs 17,000 in our account, and I didn't know what to do. Thankfully he had to come back earlier than scheduled from England. Because he had been selected for the 2007 World T20 camp."

I respect Younis Khan, but I'm not his fan. However, I'm a Misbah fan and I'll miss him. What a champion and ambassador for the sport! I'm proud he came from our part of the world! Top bloke!

He was 'tuk tuk' when Pakistan needed him to be but boy he could turn it on. Ask me, an Indian- Which Pakistan batsman had the ability to take Pakistan to a win from a hopeless situation in a chase? I will always say, Misbah Ul Haq! See you and I hope there are some more Ul-Haq's we can look forward to in the future!

Hope he joins commentary and replaces that treacherous Rameez Raja!!

Couldn't agree more. He is so hypocritical. He complains that we are too defensive in Tests, but he himself has the slowest century in ODIs. He was a parchi player.

At least he made a century. We have Gavaskar calling T20 games! The same match fixer who made 30 odd in nearly 200 balls in a WORLD CUP!

Misbah and Younis were to great players for Pakistan. Such a delight to watch them bat. I hope they will still be involved in cricket. I will miss watching them bat. :(

On a sidenote, I hope the Pakistan Test team will not become like Sri Lanka after the departure of Sanga and Jaywardene. :lol

The world cricket will remember Misbah and Younis for ages. Specially under the circumstances they delivered Master-Class performances. Younis Khan is such a patriot, I loved him for his next five years Plans for serving Pakistan Cricket.

Regarding, Ramiz Raja, I can understand where you are coming but He is the only commentator from Pakistan having loads of commentary experience and he brings passion with his voice. Don't tell me that Waqar is the future of Commentary team. Wasim Akram is good as well and he can be better doing it more.
