Nothing will happen... So Umar Amin finalized? Oh well.. He has always been unsuccessful internationally... Its gonna be a tough comeback for him. But atleast loads better than Akmal because Akmal destroys the whole game not just himself..

Amen!

Wasn't there a HUGE outcry after the World T20 about not getting recycled cricketers of which U Akmal was a part? Didn't the ex-coach publicly suggest he was a dressing room pest?

Another ICC event and just before the start, a controversy. The problem with Pakistan cricket is not it's players, it's the people who run cricket. There is no team environment ever. I predict that now M Arthur will be made the culprit and villain in this situation after Pakistan lose in the CT. The bottom line is that Pakistan don't have a team worthy of winning such a global event, but they don't lack talent for it. They need a build up phase of 2-3 years where they build a pool of players as well as a team morale and camaraderie. But, I'm afraid there will be people on the outside who will claim to want the betterment of Pakistan cricket but in reality only want money/publicity.

In my personal opinion, this is a fantastic decision by whoever has taken it. This clown has been a pain in the rear for Pakistan and World cricket in general. People say he is 'talented!' Well, if you send Rehan, Talhayat or myself in a green or blue jersey for 200 odd games, even we will win a couple of games. What we won't manage to do is make our country liable to become laughing stocks because of us.

Also, he could have been fit when he left for the CT but may not be so now. I know of a lot of people who lose weight and gain weight for fun in a matter of days. And, U Akmal has himself said that even water and air make him put on weight! :lol:lol:lol

I can understand and agree about all the problems surrounding around but it doesn't really rule out Pakistani worthiness to win the CT. I don't think so that we were free from problems when we won the Cup in 92 and then Won 09 T20 Cup. The reasons were two strong captains who gelled the team together. Imran Khan and Younis Khan. The outside environment and board policies does affect but when the team is Ground its the Captain and team unit who fights in there to clinch wins. We have examples of Windies as well Winning the T20 Cup twice despite having lots of problems. In this CT, I have hopes with Sarfraz and a Younger lot of bowlers. Though looking least favorite Pakistan at the moment, It has yet to be seen how far we can go.

Sending Akmal back to home is itself a good decision by PCB/Team Management. I don't know why this has been spreading like fire by the Media. Akmal is no Sachin Tendulkar that sending him back will disturb team's combination. I wonder about the discussions in Media that it might disturb dressing room. Strange.

LOL! You're dreaming if you think Pakistan can win the CT! I'm convinced they won't qualify either. As far as the T20 WC goes? Younis Khan didn't do crap. That was SK Afridi's cup and you can't compare anyone to Imran. He'd probably be my all time XI captain. Sarfaraz is not Imran or anywhere near!

I ain't dreaming, but I ain't saying it either that Pakistan doesn't have a single bit of chance. What I just said that I don't see Pakistan ruling out completely from CT and not even qualifying, That can be your view. Back in 2009 WC, I believed that Afridi performed under the leadership of Younis Khan, infact the entire team supported him. Had Younis not been a captain at that time, things might have been very different. Younis Khan had a great part on the field captaining the side. It isn't a piece of cake doing on-field decisions. On the other hand, I never said that Sarfraz is Imran Khan. What I am hopeful for is that we have a New Captain who is energetic and team would be behind him. The entire team will be focused as much as any team in preparation because we know that we are quite behind as a One Day Side and when you know that you do every effort to win your chance back. I have a hope for a better performance from Pakistan even though on paper and grounds other teams clearly hold lot of edge.

Lmao youre nothing short of an idiot, everyone had ruled out the West Indies in 2004, yet they went on to win the tournament. Pakistan certainly has a dangerous side and can defeat any other international team once they get things correct. Definitely not favourites but to say Pakistan dont stand a chance at all when history proves otherwise is being idiotic and trolling!

So Haris Sohail has been called. He is good player, but I don't think we needed another middle-order batsman.

Pakistan team can be least favorites to win CT17, but if they get things right and pick up momentum they can flip people's thought. Just check the history.

The only downside of this Pakistan squad is no. 6 or 7 batsman. Pakistan squad has no player who bats no. 6,7 and can hit some boundaries in the last 10 overs. Don't say Imaad Wasim. He certainly bats at this position. But he's definitely not that kind of batsman who can flip the game in the end. (At least he hasn't proved yet). Has anyone seen Fahim Ashraf? I haven't watched him. I don't know about him. Does he bats down the order and can smoke some boundaries?

Pakistan team has another middle-order batsman now. Haris Sohail.

Pakistan has many players in this CT17 squad who are middle-orders.

Shoaib Malik - bats at no. 4 or 5. You can't put him down the order at no. 6 or 7 or it will be a waste.

M Hafeez - There are three openers excluding Hafeez and I don't think Hafeez can be a good option to open the innings in England conditions. Likely he'll bat in middle-order.

Sarfraz Ahmed - If you want maximum use of this player. You can't position him below no. 5
(At least this is what I feel)

Haris Sohail - Another middle-order batsman, making a comeback.

From above readings. You've observed that there is no genuine no. 6 or 7 batsman.

My Ideal XI would be.

Fakhar Zaman
Azhar Ali/Ahmed Shehzad
Babar Azam
Sarfraz Ahmed
Shoaib Malik
Fahim Ashraf/M Hafeez
Imaad Wasim
Shadab Khan
M Amir
Hasan Ali
Junaid Khan.

You can clearly see there are too many Middle-order batsmen. Haris Sohail didn't made it. I don't know who can bat no. 6. Fahim Ashraf or Hafeez or anyone else.

Thoughts?

I thought that Fawad Alam got selected that's why you were happy , but when saw the post above yours .................... Hmmm....
Three yesses were because neither of the Umars got selected, if it were Fawad, there would've been like a hundred yesses, and a few inappropriate words.

Until yesterday most of the Pakistani media was telling that Umar Amin is picked but finally Harris Sohail is selected. I still feel that Umar Amin deserved it more, specially after two big hundreds in the Pakistan Cup. He is much fitter than Harris and probably a better fielder too.
