If you are talking about me - I retired one year ago, but at that time the whole nation said I should keep on touring. Now the whole nation is saying that I should be ashamed of myself and go. If you do such things, nobody will be ready to become captain. It's not necessary you win every series, it's not necessary you perform in every series. One can put in his best effort. Our views change if you don't perform in four matches, despite performing for six years.

I think all this talk about getting new captain and fresh faces are all stop gap solutions. Pakistan needs to learn to have set goals and roles for their players and they should be willing to fight (not literally lol) against the best of the players and their teams. Somehow Pakistan looks as a bunch of players without no clear task cut out to them. Hopefully the meeting in March will solve this problem. Wasim Akram have saying a lot in Game On Hai of late and now Akram has got to show that he is really willing to give his knowledge back to Pakistan Cricket.

Kudos to Cook for taking a bold decision and stepped down with test captaincy. A thing to learn for Misbah who has downgraded himself a lot off-late with strange media talks, anger and all. Quite sure he won't learn a single thing from here as well.

Azhar Ali's quit to captaincy was evident considering the mountain of pressure from all circles. It has happened for good I hope Insha'ALLAH
 
Ahmed Shehzad needs to be back. I was quite amused with the power hitting of Kamran Akmal. Most importantly, I liked his aggressive attitude. He is certainly in great form and can be considered for T20's as a batsman, Since we are seriously missing good power hitters down and up the order except Sharjeel Khan
 
Kamran Akmal is a must in ODI and T20s till his form last. It will be a dream opening pair for Pakistan with Sharjeel and Kamran Akmal opening and scoring aggressively. Plus it will be difficult for teams to introduce spinners against Kamran and thus both openers can bat to their strength. I am a strong advocate of giving chances to players who are performing contentiously in domestic circuit. We have lost Asim Kamal, Fawad Alam, Tabish Khan etc but with Inzamam as selector, I am expecting that he will give the chance to deserving Kamran Akmal.
 
So far what it seems like is that after the opening game, somebody came to meet with Sharjeel and Khalid. Not sure if they knew it or not but that somebody was a bookie and PCB has suspended both because they failed to report it.
 
Irfan, Zulfiqar Babar and Shahzaib Hasan are being investigated as well :facepalm

The stories suggest that the bookie was still trying to win the confidence of these players by just meeting them. Well in any case we need a life ban, if they know even a little about that bookie and still failed to report it.
