Pakistan to refuse to play WC games in India

Actually that makes me think, if PCB can sue the ICC for taking away their games, can the ICC not counter sue PCB because they're violating the contract by refusing to play in India?

No, because the PCB are going to refuse to play the WC games in India on security grounds.

There is enough evidence to support that in a courtroom. In fact, if the PCB wanted to, they could win a court case to retain hosting rights in Pakistan.

Read my long post about how the ICC did not follow proper procedures to take away the hosting rights of Pakistan, and how they will win the case to keep their games in the UAE (which is what they're fighting for).

Any proof of this?

Sid, have you been living under a rock? The BCCI clearly said that they do not want the WC games to be hosted in the UAE. When the UAE came up in the meeting for the 2011 WC, the BCCI said no, and were joined by the SLCB and the BCB.

Why don't they do it then?

You're taking this nowhere zMario, some of your points are senseless. Taking Kasab alive was FAR more beneficial than having him dead. It exposed the people behind it, and most importantly, it exposed the long hidden truth that Pakistan was becoming a breeding ground for terrorists.

I could have told you where the terrorists were trained 10 minutes after 26/11 happened too. For you, it may have been a hidden truth. For me, I knew that Pakistan had this issue which was not being tackled aggressively.

Either way, you are saying all of this in hindsight. The appropriate action would have been to shoot him then (shoot him in the leg; you get your evidence and you have subdued him)

Intelligence IS working though, they've caught so many terrorists inside the borders with TONS of ammunition, probably for another Mumbai attack. They've done a lot after the incident.

I didn't say intelligence wasn't working. Pakistan has done PLENTY of work in this regard (catching terrorists and alleged plots), just as India have. However, both intelligence agencies failed on 26/11 and 3/3 respectively.

If Pakistan do not get the right to host at UAE will they boycott? Maybe that is what is needed. Once they boycott and realize that no one missed them, the WC went ahead as planned maybe they will change their stubborn ways.

No, Pakistan will not boycott.

They will just refuse to play in India, which will mean Pakistan will play all their games in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

If Pakistan do make it to the semi-final, I would say it would automatically be played in Sri Lanka, while I do not know what would happen if Pakistan made it to the final. Prehaps an exception would be made by the Pakistani Government ;)

Security is not a real issue, I hope you guys understand that. Everything happening is political, nothing else. Pakistan want to play their allotted games in the UAE, and nothing else. If Pakistan receive their allotted games in the UAE, then Pakistan will play their WC games in India (whatever they are scheduled to play).

Also Hmarka, I think people would rather see Pakistan than England. England are consistently terrible at ODI cricket, while Pakistan are unpredictable. It is this unpredictability that makes cricket entertaining to watch.

If their matches are scheduled in India and they do not play, it will be a forfeit, not automatically shifted to Sri Lanka.

The match schedule hasn't been made yet.

The ICC won't attempt to have forfeited games again; that is a huge waste of money. Penalties would have to be paid to ESPNStar, I believe.

What about a game in Pakistan in the middle of a fortified military base with tanks along the boundries. That actually would look pretty cool.

Let's wait and watch.

The BCCI don't want it to happen, but are the BCCI above the CAS? We shall see.

I know you guys dont trust Indiatimes news, but they say its coming from a well informed source from the PCB itself. So I am posting it here. Looks like the PCB has started thinking "this is going to go nowhere for us" and are thinking of giving it all up.

"Well informed source" in the subcontinent means made up usually.

The reason I say this is made up is the writer of the article still believes that Pakistan is still trying to host games in Pakistan :laugh

The PCB has already said they are fighting to host games in the UAE, not Pakistan. This article is another fine example of why I find it difficult to trust Indian media - there are so many holes in this story, starting with the writer thinking that Pakistan wants to host its games in Pakistan.
