What a knock from Smith! He's relentless. Everybody keeps hyping up other players but Smith just quietly goes about his business - this is the third consecutive year where has got 1000+ test runs. Can you imagine Smith with a decent team around him who he doesn't have to carry against every half-decent opposition? Frightening prospect.

Just an observation - if Root/Kane/Kohli play a good innings, you never see the end of it. Why is it that almost all of Smith's performances are hushed up? Not a lot of articles praising him despite him being a run machine.

I agree with you... Even I think that the same thing is happening with Kane Williamson...

According to me, the possible reason is that Smith and Williamson are a great force in tests only, while Kohli and Root perform in all three formats consistently...

Williamson & Smith are both amazing in ODI'S too!
Williamson average in T20 is good too!
Smith hasn't done anything in T20 only
