Pakistan Tour of South Africa and Zimbabwe - April / May 2021

Huge drop by Rizwan. Rassie can help SA make 150+ in the last 20 overs.

I liked the way how Babar Azam have Captained this side so far. He is constantly shuffling around his bowlers and giving them confidence and they aren't disappointing him either. I get a feeling that Shadab have become a little desperate since he hasn't got a wicket for a while now. He just needs to switch back to his basics and bowl those flighted deliveries at a slightly quicker pace which has been his strength over the years. So far he is trying too many things and leaking boundaries.

It does mean that he needs more overs from Shadab and Danish towards the death overs, which is a bit of a gamble. But good to see him take an attacking approach nonetheless, he’s clearly done his homework.

340 is par score here today... The pitch has lost its morning moisture that Pakistan hoped will assist their pacers. Pity Markram battle to contain his composure, he is such a talent; but he always seem to lose it in his thirties. De Lock looked strong through the off side, but like a schoolboy cricketer on the leg side where he normally is very strong. Bavuma is a gutsy cricketer, looking solid today. Vd Dussen showing he can start off aggressively here today, if he pulls it off he will silence his critics for normally taking his time to get settled. If he doesn't, well ... He will still remain Mr. Consistent.

Anybody criticizing RvD in LO games need to have their eyes examined. Bloke has the template for a modern ODI worked out to a tee.

Today we got to see the actual version of Rassie Vd Dussen. What hitting that was!!!! I really feel disappointed seeing him miss the 3 figures but nevertheless a great innings. Also Bavuma have silenced his critics (including me :p) with this knock.

That flick from Rassie Vd Dussen towards fine leg for a one bounce 4 against Hasnain in the last over was the shot of the day for me!!!

I can't understand Faheem attempting those short deliveries to someone like Rassie Vd Dussen who is so good against it that too at his home ground. He should've bowled full since that has been his key to contain runs in this series. Shadab Khan was once again trying too many things. After that 10-run over Danish Aziz should've bowled that extra over.

Shades of AbD in some of those shots and dominant poses that Rassie pulled off today. Get Malan in or pray Markram gets over his mental issues and this top four could be really decent. Only thing holding them back is a sixth bowling option. Wonder if Ruan de Swardt could fill that hole in the near future.

Our openers need to start aggressively to take some pressure off. Looking at you, Imam :spy

Just a single boundary since Rassie's dismissal. Need to keep the scoring rate up for a 330+ score.

If only they hadn't lost Duanne Olivier to Kolpak deal. I think Preterious have done decently well in that role. But de Swardt batting abilities and his age being on his side helps him and the team.

Pakistan needs Zaman to deliver if they want to win.

Olivier is a bowler who could at best hold one end though. Not sure how he would help with being a competent finisher. I don't rate him much either, he was lucky to start off against a a Pakistani side that had no clue on what to do versus bouncers. Nortje and Dupavillon for one are much better bowlers than him.

Hulk is possibly good enough to bat at six if your top four can guarantee decent platforms like today, if Phehlukwayo can slightly improve his own batting skills and the tail isn't as long as it currently is. I guess the last reason is why he hasn't really played much there.
