Pakistan Tour of the West Indies - July/August 2021

I'll rethink my original analysis and say that we can probably chase anything up to 200. But really, I'd like under 150 with perhaps a day and a half to go.

EDIT: Has Roach really bowled 15 overs for 15 runs while picking up 2 wickets? Damn that's a breakdown there.

Chase to the left hander. Gonna be interesting. He's getting turn and bounce. I'd like a silly point and a short gully, just because of that turn and bounce.

Such an interestingly poised Test match here. Nobody can say they won today, which is about the ideal thing you want on a Day 3. Pakistan can bat long tomorrow, or be cleaned up cheaply. Anything over 200 is going to be damn hard and I don't rate our chances highly if that's the case. For some reason, I do actually back our bowling for the first time since forever for me. Batting is still iffy, we do need a proper top order. But we've got it in us to chase scores.

Expect Yasir Shah to feature heavily in the 4th innings. With Chase getting that sort of turn he did, he just didn't bowl the right lines. Shaheen too, once the ball gets a bit older. Warrican got some good drift near the end of play, but he didn't bowl near as enough as he should have.

He's in poor form though. Would've preferred Nauman Ali to him, honestly, he's mighty accurate, which makes him an even bigger threat on a turning wicket. But hopefully Yasir can be consistent with his line and length, and clean up the Windies. We need 100 more runs, and although I didn't watch, both Babar and Faheem seem settled on the crease. If Yasir and Hasan support them well, we could get the lead up to 250.

Babar looked very settled yesterday. I just hope he is able to continue that and get a match-winning 100. Faheem, Hassan and Yasir should support him well.

Anything over 200 would get tough for West Indies, but 230-270 should be the aim in Pakistani batsmen's minds.

Faheem was dropped once, but didn't capitalise. Up to Babar and the tail to get us at least 70 more runs.

Pretty soft dismissal for Babar. Falling to Kyle Mayers of all bowlers. Awful start. Let’s see if Hasan and Yasir can scrape up a defendable target, otherwise looking very bleak.

To be fair, he has a great bowling record. Average of 21 in FC, in 50+ innings.
Hasan should just slog at this point.
Wouldn’t mind seeing that rain we were promised :p

Will need a massive effort by the bowlers. Or rain.

Yasir needs to stand up and deliver.

168 the target. This is tough. Not impossible, but tough.

(EDIT: I always used to think...well why doesn't everyone contribute? I mean...15 runs per batsman, we're home easily.)

Fifth morning for the finish, anyone?

His Test average should be around 16 or so by now. Not just a part-timer, he can be considered a legit medium pace option. The swing and seam that I saw him getting was very nice.

Just one more, and all the pressure will be on the Windies to see out the day.
