Pakistan tour of Zimbabwe, Sep 2011

You are spot on Ferg, Alam should be in the side, I believe he has a century on debut, against NZ, in NZ. Farhat and Adnan are clowns but they most likely have political connections within the PCB.
I don't understand why Wahab and Gul have been rested, Gul especially needs all the cricket under his belt he can get and a successful series against Zimbabwe would have done him a world of good.

The century was against Sri Lanka actually in 2009, 168 runs if I remember correctly.

Waiting to See Raja playing in this series.I saw him in Faysal Bank T20,Looked quite solid in his attack.Unlike Umar Akmal,He has got a sense of Good and Bad balls

Insomniac is right, but it was still a helluva of a century. Pakistan had been ripped by the Sri Lankan new ball bowlers namely Kulasekara, and Alam who has never opened before comes up with all the horrible technique etc to score a century on debut. He and younis Pakistan to 300 oddish for 1, only for the team to crumble to less than 350 when the second new ball arrives. :facepalm

I think the selectors are losing faith in Umar Gul. Gul tbh has not looked like the leader of the attack, more like a second bowler. I mean even with Aamir and Asif out, its usually Akhtar whos looked like the leader, and Gul has been slightly disappointing in big games. Dont get me wrong, I prefer Gul playing to regenerate his confidence, because unlike all the other bowlers hes been the only consistent and uncontroversial bowler in the last 5 years or so.

i hope zimbabwe will give pakistan a tough time after the series against bangladesh

yesss i remember it was Umar Akmal who got the century against NZ. Yeah, Gul has looked like a first change bowler for quite a while but he needs games against opposition like Zimbabwe for a number of reasons.
But I totally agree at least his kept his ups and downs on the cricket field :p

Looking forward to see Ramiz Raja Jr in action. Insha ALLAH he will perform better. Watched him in the domestic matches.

And now Waqar has announced that this will be his last Series as Pakistan coach One is about to Go when the otherr(Ejaz butt) Will?

Doesnt make sense. But then again when was the last time Pakistan cricket made sense :facepalm

Again with the world cup showing it looked like Pakistan were turning it around, what a false dawn.

I'm just really disappointed that they picked Shoaib Malik again, that guy really was the center of many problems but seems to have found his mates in PCB again...

^^^ soo true, the guys time has come and gone but he obviously has connections.

and I'm hopping Hamad Raza ( I think that was his name) gets back into the team. Looks like a decent bowler.

In Pakistan its not about talent but its all about your family in the government, Money or if you have friends in PCB, that's how you get into the team.
