Pakistan v Australia in England, June-July 2010

Yahoo!! at last we have a joy against Aussie. Great all round performance except fielding and Akhtar as usual. I will not be amazed if they change Akhtar with Fawad.

Akhtar was going 17.00 runs a over lol...can't believe he can still bowl over 90 mph at the age of 35.

This is why Pakistan shouldn't be underestimated, I'm looking at you Warner/Dussey/Clarke/White who threw their wickets away. Any team captained by Afridi is going to have that X-Factor tbh, he's going to make a great captain.

THERE WE GO TAIT
Australia just played poorly. Johnson and Nannes both looked a bit rusty and the bowling probably lacked another paceman anyway. Pakistan threatened to let Australia get away with murder, but fortunately for Pakistan, Akmal capitalised and put them in their place.

Pakistan's bowling attack was near on perfect in composition and Australia could take notes. Six proper bowlers. Genuine pace, fast medium pace, off spin, leg spin and not to mention, a guy who can reverse swing the ball both ways. A real variety and plenty of wicket takers.

However, I think Pakistan were probably a bit lucky in that they folded in such a way that Umar Akmal was at the crease after less than 8 overs it was as if he was a number 3 or 4, even though he came in at 6. He had time to face those change bowlers, time to get going without having to worry about reverse swing or any of that.

Both teams need to look to play their stars at the right time, rather than holding them in reserve so they can dig the team out of a giant gaping hole. White and Hussey came in at around 11 overs. It might not seem like much of a difference and they certainly didn't come to the crease in dire straits, but it is a game where there is no time to waste.

It will be a sportive day tomorrow. First the match of Pakistan vs Australia will start at 16:00 GMT and the Netherlands vs Uruguay will start at 18:30 GMT. That means the half hour of the match I'll be watching it together with the World Cup 2010 match.

I wonder if Clarke would be willing to drop himself from the T20 side. :facepalm

Welcome back Gul... we missed you.... The inswinging yorker to Hussey was a beaut!!! I will be watching it on youtube on a loop, tonight....
