Pakistan vs England in United Arab Emirates - October/November 2015

Dropping Ahmed Shehzad and playing in Babar Azam is a silly thing done by Waqar once again. Younis Khan has retired and guess what this must have grilled Waqar to induct Shehzad in the next game forcefully. No wonder, He can even do a more silly thing and can play Bilal Asif again as Opener in next game.

Pak ODI Team Management lead by Waqar Younis is continuously doing experiments in ODI and still failed to find a right combination and that's not a fault of any player talents. That is some ego issues I feel...

Great win by Pakistan. Playing Babar Azam ahead of Shahzad worked quite well in the end, didn't it @Rehan_24 ? However I agree with you on the fact that Bilal Asif shouldn't be opening the batting. He just doesn't have the right technique. In the next match Hafeez should open, Rizwan should come in for Younus and bat at 6 and Asif should bat at 7.
It's a shame that Younis Khan couldn't end his ODI career on a high, but I think it's better to leave on your own terms and conditions rather than being kicked out by those PCB twats.

Is Rashid going to work out for us? It's been mediocre at best from him so far. Would Ansari do any better? I'd be tempted to go back to Tredwell. Can't remember him having a bad ODI.

The team I'd go for in t20 WC is

1. Roy
2. Hales
3. Root
4. Morgan
5. Ali
6. Buttler
7. Stokes
8. Willey
9. Broad
10. Tredwell
11. Topley

I'm very anti KP but I'd be tempted to bring him in for either Roy or Hales.

Hafeez is in top form and Babar Azam no doubt possess massive talent and determination, at the end of the day, It was a convincing win by Pakistan. @talahayat, My point is that you shouldn't drop a set batsman and give chance to a new one. Pakistan still hasn't found the right combination. Rizwan and Sarfraz combo won't do good for the team, The management need to pick one out of two rather than playing both. In the next match, We will see a new combination and hence the the ODI Combo has been struggling for a while due to un-necessary and forced experimentations by Team management.

On the other hand, PCB is unhappy by Younis Retirement. They could never have been happy till they decided to kick the serving batsman out on their own terms. This is a no wonder thing as PCB has the habit of not recognizing the top players just like what is happening in every department in the country.

...But I think Umar Akmal is one of the most experienced batsman in the Pakistan Cricket and also a handy keeper. He can slog the the ball and can also play long innings. Looks like some thing is wrong with the PCB and Umar.

I really don't think anyone is going to do any better than Rashid (unfortunately), and I think if Tredwell was going to get a chance, they'd have picked him already. Ansari is still very young and unlikely to get through a tour at this stage unscathed, and then hounded out.

Why are you Anti KP out of interest? He's still making loads of runs, but he's past getting picked now.

I think Sam Billings should be brought in. He can open as well.

I suppose it's just which side of the fence you stand on. I've read KPs book and listened to what others have to say, and I think that he must have been a real nightmare to have in the dressing room. For me, Strausd is a man of real integrity and I back him all the way.

Oh yeah the handling of the Peter Moores sacking had integrity written all over it.

Great decision by PCB to induct Rafatullah, I have seen him playing in domestic Tournament, Boy he can make english bowlers run out of their money in the T-20. Let's hope he gets a proper chance. Its nice to see PCB changing gears for the very first time, Inducting a senior batsman and dropping a over-hyped less talented umar akmal on grounds of discipline. Way to go :thumbs

As Dave said above, I'm not sure Strauss has a bucket load of integrity at the moment.

Obviously we will never know how the players act in the dressing rooms or interact with each other. Personally, I love working with people who stir the pot, makes things interesting! However, I don't think personality should matter in terms of picking the best team. Christiano Ronaldo sounds like a hideous person, but Real Madrid would never get rid of him because of it.

Nice start this from Hales and Roy.....oh bugger![DOUBLEPOST=1447417128][/DOUBLEPOST]

He should have been sacked though! Well, he never should have got the job in the first place.

I wasn't on here for the Test Series mate, but every time Bell was at the crease, I thought of you raging!

Pakistan's most confused ODI team management ever once again has done experimentation by opening with Babar Azam in this match, making him a make-shift opener, A person who performed so well on his number in the last game. Bilal Asif had a bad day in the first ODI, despite giving him confidence and benefit of debut, Dropping him and replacing with Rizwan is again the foolish mistake done. You may win the match Waqar, But this is not an intelligent approach to build a winning combination, mark the words!

Pretty defeatist considering you beat us 2-0 in the Test Series and thrashed us in the first ODI! You should be more positive mate!

I'll mark your words though, and hopefully you'll prove to be right so we can level the series. I think Pakistan have done really well these last few weeks. Much improved from when I last watched them play in England.

Can't help but think England have waited a bit too long to up the run rate. Pakistan fans, is 300 enough on these wickets?

We might have disagreed on some things before, but this time i completely agree with you. Why are they experimenting so much? It's not that we're no.2 or 3 in the rankings, so we can afford to experiment a bit. We're no.9. We need to field our best possible line-up in every match. Why would you have Babar Azam, a middle order batsman, open the innings and not Hafeez, who's opened throghout his career? And even if they want Hafeez to bat at 3, why not bring in a specialist opener like Ahmed Shahzad instead of Iftikhar Ahmed, who wasn't even supposed to be in the ODI squad?
