Pakistan vs England in United Arab Emirates - October/November 2015

In reality then we have 3 places in the final lineup for :

Plunkett
Woakes
Willey
Topley
Wood
Finn
Jordan
Stokes

Also worth thinking that there will probably only be 6 places for them based on the following squad :

Hales
Roy
Vince
Root
Morgan

Buttler
Billings

Ali
Rashid
Parry

Think the 10 you have listed are definitely going. Isn't it a 15 man squad? It normally is. If so, they'll only be 5 of those guys going. I think they'll go with the 4 guys playing at the moment, plus Stokes, who can cover in the batting department also.

Jordan isn't good enough, and Finn and Wood are just unlucky with injury.

Looks like Broad will go to world t20, if you believe the Sunday papers. Apparently Broad will play the t20 matches in SA. I'm not surprised. As well as we are doing at the moment, the bowling lineup does lack experience.

Good match. We are quite lacking in the bowling department. Get Irfan in and Get Rid of Tanvir. Just need a balance in the team and consistent chance of the selected combination. Good to see Afridi performed with bowling

In the long run before World T20, would be better If we get Aamir back as well. This will strengthen the bowling like anything

PS: Just to add a quick note on Rafatullah, The man has clearly disappointed so far, Not looking comfortable at all with short pitch bowling, unable to hook and pull and hell illiterate about how to construct an innings in T-20 I am afraid to observe

I think Afridi's in love with Tanvir. Why else would he keep selecting him?

Whenever Pakistan builds some pressure, Afridi brings Tanvir or Anwar back in to the attack, who duly concede 10 runs off an over, and the opposition team ends up scoring 20-30 runs more than expected. That's the story of the Pakistan T20 team. We need to permanently throw out these dibbly-dobbly medium pacers who don't even know how to bowl at the death and stay in the team just because Afridi loves them. The pitch is spinning, and you play 4 freakin pacers. Has the team management got any idea on how to select a playing XI? Bring back Junaid and Aamir already. Who cares if Hafeez doesn't want to play with him. Throw him out as well, he's useless anyway.
I bet England will score 160 and Pakistan will collapse as usual, and then Afridi will say "It was really unfortunate to lose, but no one should blame us because we were experimenting". Then stop experimenting, for god's sake! Play your best XI. That's how you win, not by experimenting!

Why the hell is Jordan bowling the super over? So many full tosses during the match. Had to be spin for me.

What do I know? Good first 4.

Wow. That's probably the best last over/super over I've ever seen. Fair play to him.

Basically sums up how my thoughts progressed during the super over :D.

I have to say, an incredibly good call by Bayliss and Morgan to give Jordan that super over. They've obviously spotted something in training and stuck to the plan despite the turning pitch and calls for either Rashid or Ali to bowl. If Jordan can do that on a semi regular basis then England have got a real dilemma picking their 3 seamers for the WC.

I'm a big fan of both Willey and Woakes, but I was a bit confused as to why they just continued to bowl length at one pace. Particularly Willey, who has been so successful when mixing it up. Woakes is such a talented cricketer though. His batting was brilliant and he seems to have a lot of bottle when bowling in tough situations.

Pakistan lost from a categorically winning position. No words, poor show and I must appreciate England tremendous comeback after losing Test Series. Well played England

Incredibly, I think we're just a better limited overs side than test side at the moment. Strauss wanted ODI focus. He seems to have got it.

I thought Woakes was superb yesterday. Both his hitting with the bat and that last over were brilliant. He's gone in my mind from not sure if he gets into our best side, to probably good enough to compete with Stokes for the Number 7 spot. I thought Vince struggled a bit. He seemed to not be able to go up a gear, which might be a bigger worry when chasing big totals. I'm still not convinced by Roy and I think Ali would be better opening than in the middle order.

On Jordan, he was also brilliant with that last over. It's weird how he can absolutely nail that, yet hasn't looked anywhere near that level in this series before that. We do seem to have plenty of options with the ball though, with the only guaranteed bowler for me being Rashid.

I get what you're saying about Ali. 4 isn't a great spot for him. He either opens or bats 7 for me. I think Roy has done alright personally, so I'd have him at 7.

Vince just played the situation. Ball was turning miles and he probably realised 160 was a winning score rather than 180/190. He played pretty freely in the first two matches.

Rashid probably is guaranteed his place as he's done enough in the series. I prefer Parry as he's more reliable, but Bayliss clearly rates him and wants a leggie in the side.

Wow ..

In this quote, replace Pakistan with India. Afridi with MSD. Tanvir/Anwar with guys like Binny/Munaf/Jogi/Vinay/etc. and it would be equally valid :P
