Pakistan vs England Jul-Aug-Sep 2010

Afridi just hit a six. It looks like he has hit someone in the stands. One spectator was checking some other spectator's eye.

The guy is actually bleeding. It seems the ball hit him between his eyes. The Pakistani fysio just went to check on him.

It's time for Pakistan now to accelerate.

Afridi being very captainly to young Umar Akmal.

Broad can muster some real pace with that effort-ball.

I thought Pakistan would reach around 250 runs and they are nearly there.

Big thanks to Razzaq. Only disappointment was that Razzaq took a couple on the last ball of Anderson's over. He should have taken a single and played the first ball of the last over as well. He could have made crucial runs on the first ball.

What a difference Razzaq has made for Pakistan. Gives them some strength in the lower order and his experience with the ball has helped allot.

Credit to Razzaq, good hitting. 265 is a good total. Bowling could have been better. Our batting is a lot stronger today. SHould be another good game.

42 runs of the last 2 overs. Imagine if Razzaq had started hitting 1 or 2 overs earlier.

Nevertheless 265-7 is better then I had expected.

This is turning into a fairly anticlimactic end to the innings after Afridi's explosive innings

I love incorrect predictions.

I think that's a nice total and an interesting combination of brawn and class from Razzaq, but I think it was also key that Hafeez got to the 32nd over and Alam got to the 38th. In protecting their attacking batsmen, they helped make the innings better than its worst points. Umar didn't get in, but Afridi did and could probably have gone on if he'd called the Powerplay before going after Bresnan. However, that was to Razzaq's benefit and he showed exactly what Afridi might have done in a Powerplay against Bresnan. Broad looked dangerous though and there's also credit to Razzaq for handling him well and showing just enough patience with time running out.

Pakistan should think their spin can do better. Swann was excellent, but Yardy took no advantage of the surface. It's another one of those games where maybe Collingwood could have bowled a lot more overs. I don't recall any signs of reverse, but maybe there will be in the hands of Akhtar and Gul.

I think Gough was right. Strauss can't score quickly in a powerplay to save his life...

Shoaib Akhtar has given already 30 runs of his 3 overs. You would think he should be given a bit of rest by now.

Nah, he has to go for 40 in 5 overs. At least that is what I have been told before the match
