Pakistani Tour of New Zealand, Dec-Feb 2010/11

England didn't select Graham Napier who is one of the best T20 specialists they have...

Brownlie I don't mind, though his form this season hasn't been the greatest. Woodcock has been bowling well and is basically similar to Vettori but worse at both disciplines. Milne is too young but then again it is T20 so i don't really care.

If you look at their teams, only Pietersen, Colly, Broad, and Swann are in both their number one test team, and their T20 WC winning XI.

I just think we can learn something from that.

Is all I can say after the practice match is that's why Michael Bates should be there in our T20 squad.

Yeah totally agree, cant really see why he wasn't picked.

Does anyone know why they have scheduled T20 then the tests with the ODIs last, it seems really strange. I suppose they wanted the boxing day T20 but they could've replaced it with a test, and have the test series first with the one day stuff later.

The 20/20 world cup thingy or whatever it is called is just a lottery, Pakistan nearly made the final after only winning 2 games out of six or something, it's a joke, England winning that proved nothing.
Their 20/20 "specialists" didn't exactly perform well in 2007 did they? They just got lucky this time, and the last lot of substandard sloggers and dinky medium pacers who can't bowl didn't.

Probably because they wanted the ODIs closest to the WC, and the T20s as warmup for the tests :/

I know it's a lottery, but that's really my point.

By not picking test match players for T20 international matches, it's going to allow them to focus more on tests, and if you have specialist T20 players they can just focus on that, if you see what I'm getting at.

Since tests are the pinnacle of the game, in order to get the best out of your test players, you don't really want them playing many T20 international matches. Since you're T20 players won't really need to focus on test match cricket, it's going to allow them to focus on that style of the game.

Yeah I know thats what I can't understand, have the ODIs last but the tests really should be first and then the T20s. I mean is Akhtar etc. who wont be in the test squad, do they go back home for like 10 days?

Why to fly back home? He can enjoy Newzealand unless another controversy breakout.

So Pakistan lose to Auckland :facepalm. Pakistan have lost to state team of a country that was whitewashed by Bangladesh :facepalm. Can it get any worse :mad

I liked Waqar's statement to the media - " We would like to play clean cricket here " which is more important than the results. :) With NZ struggling more off-late, the outcome of this series is going to bring the pride out without any doubts. :)

So Bangladesh > New Zealand > Auckland > Pakistan :p?

Well it was a lol game. We are just too poor when it comes to batting. But from the history whenever we loose our warmup match of a series, we usually perform well in that series.
