The West Indies were finally able to end this dreaded 130 runs partnership when Inzi got runout just a few balls after scoring his century.

Just 22 runs later, Youhana got caught from an attempted six, after which Amir and Moin Khan were able to put up 50+ runs on the board just before Amir too gave up an easy catch to Sarwan. Amir was out at 46 and Pakistan were now 342/6. After this wicket, the Pakistani batting line-up started to wobble and they lost some quick wickets, failing to reach 400 runs after such a great start.

Pakistan were all out after scoring 393 runs.

Here are the stats from the first inning. As you can see, Pakistan failed to reach a very competitive total after a decent start.

West Indies' reply tomorrow.

First Inning - WI

Before I start this post, I should tell you guys that my line-up got messed up for this inning, forgot to save it in line-up editor :p

The West Indies started the inning off with great confidence. Gayle in particular was looking great on the attack, that is until he edged off a delivery straight into the hands of a fielder off of Akhter.

But Hinds and Ganga didn't show any signs of slowing down and put up a quick 21 runs before three unfortunate runouts left the WI batting line-up in shambles. The only ray of hope the Windies had left was in Lara, but that hope too got crushed when the captain edged one off of Amir.

After Lara's wicket, Akhter and Amir ran through the WI batting line-up and had them all out for just 169 runs. Here's how Samuels' wicket fell.

Here are the stats for WI's first inning. They played terribly and were outdone by the Pakistani team.

Pakistan will enfore the follow-on. Results tomorrow.

Wow. Good batting and bowling from you man!! Man, got to learn from you. meanwhile, your score wasnt big becoz you seemed to be aggressive. What patch you use?

Second Inning - WI

Well saisrini, if you thought that was a good bowling performance, watch this.
I'm playing with Gold's test patch BTW.

West Indies had a big target to chase, on top of which Pakistan still had another inning to go. So the best option for WI would've been to play for a draw, even though we are just in the second day of play here.

But none of those plans really mattered when WI started playing because Shoaib Akhter was determined on humiliating them, which is exactly what he did. The first two overs of this inning were the only two peaceful overs for the Windies, for in the third over they lost three quick wickets. First to go was Gayle, who runout in an attempt to score a double where there wasn't one. On the very next ball, Hinds tried to hook on Akhter's bouncer but instead edged it off back to Moin Khan. Ganga got out a few balls later in a similiar fashion. West Indies 8/3.

A couple of overs later, Sarwan fell victim to a great off-cutter by Akhter, which edged off his bat and went straight to Moin Khan. A few overs after that Samuels too got bamboozled by Akhter when he edged one to Younis Khan. West Indies 32/5.

After Akhter was taken out of the attack, he gets tired fast, neither Amir nor Kaneria were able to penetrate the Lara-Jacobs partnership. That is until Jacobs went for a quick sweep off of Kaneria but mistimed it sending it miles into air but only two feet away from the pitch. An easy catch by Amir. West Indies 47/6.

For a good number of overs, things were looking better for West Indies, since Lara seemed to be in good shape hitting fours left and right. The Lara-Banks partnership had put up 30 runs on the board (the biggest partnership of the day). But all hopes ended for West Indies in Shoaib Malik's fourth over when his off-spinning steem-rolled over the WI batting line-up.

Over 27
27.1 - Malik to Banks, Banks goes to block it but bat-pads it into the hands of Amir. Banks OUT

27.2 - Malik to Dillon, Dillon tries to play it off to the leg side but the ball jumps off his bat, Afridi takes the catch comfortably. Dillon OUT

27.3 - Malik to Colleymore, Colleymore goes to block it, bat-pads to Inzi, Inzi drops it, oh there goes Malik's chance of getting his first hat-trick ever!!!

27.4 - Malik to Colleymore, he tries to play it towards leg, but completely misses the delivery, he's OUT, lbw in front of the leg stump.

27.5 - Malik to Taylor, he plays it off towards cover and Lara and him run for it, take the first run comfortably but then run for a second risky run, Sami throws it quickly to Malik. Lara OUT while trying to get back in.

West Indies all out for a pathetic 79 runs.

Here are the stats for the inning. Not sure who to declare Man-of-the-Match, Inzamam for his 108 runs or Akhter for his 8 wickets in two innings.

The second will probably start over the weekend, if not earlier.

That was a big big win for Pakistan. Hey nightprowler, I recommend you to try Tutsi's latest beta-4 patch. With that, you can get test matches that lasts 4 days or more. I am not done with the first test in my Ind-Pak thread and the match is into the 4th day! The batsman play in first and then once settled, go for their shots!

Thanks for the tip.

To all, I'll be using Tutsi's Patch v7.5 (beta 4) for tests, but will stick with cool gameplay patch for ODIs for now. I have already played through the first session of the second match, and I gotta tell ya, the AI is wearing my bowlers out. :p

On this hard and true pitch, West Indies have decided to bat first, since their decision to field on a similiar pitch cost them big in the first match.

Both teams have decided to play with the same lineup, Lara must have a lot of confidence in his boys.

First Inning - WI

West Indies got off to a bad start after losing Ganga in the second over to a swinging ball from Sami. After seeing the replay on the screen on his way out, Ganga made a justified remark to the umpire, which apparently will cost him 50% of his match fee.

Gayle and Sarwan played cautiously fending off attacks from Akhter and Sami, with Gayle scoring off of every bad ball the ame his way. After frustrating the two bowlers, Gayle got a bit too aggressive and edged one off of Amir in his first over, but luckily for Gayle it went through Youhana's hands, a mistake that will cost the Pakistanis dearly.

After the dropped catch, Gayle hit 13 runs to Amir in the next two overs, and the partnership seemed unstoppable until Gayle hit a shot towards cover off of Kaneria and tried to score a selfish double to get his 50, but thanks to a quick throw from Sami, Sarwan ended up getting runout ending a 50+ partnership.

Gayle compeleted his half-century, and in the presence of his captain got even bolder hitting 12 runs off of Akhter before ending the session at 76/2.

Here are the stats from the inning so far:

Pakistan will need to bowl better in order to stop WI. This Gayle-Lara partnership look dangerous. Next session should be by tomorrow.

Good to see a better performance from the CPU in the second test. I think the new patch has worked well for you. The first match was way too one sided.

Yeah, it was. Like I said in the beginning of this thread, I'll probably go through a few patches throughout the season.
