Kumble strikes for India

After Pathan and Agarkar had tired themselves out getting hit all over the park by Younis and Butt, Dravid decided to bring on the spinners. As Butt smacked away at Harbhajan's loose deliveries, Younis Khan was being troubled by Anil Kumble. The batsman swung and missed at a few deliveries before finally getting trapped leg before at the score of 61. Pakistan are now 103/2 after 29.0 overs. Muhammad Yousuf in to bat now.

After looking at the replays, it was deemed a horrible decision by the commentators since the ball would've completely missed the stumps due to its height.

Spinners trouble Pakistani batters

A bit after lunch, Harbhajan Singh came out looking like a different bowler. He bowled tighter and more dangerous deliveries. One such delivery created an opportunity for him to take out Salman Butt, an opportunity he did not waste. He caught a simple catch off of his own bowling to dismiss the opener. Kumble on the other end is doing a great job holding down Yousuf, who has yet to get off the mark after facing 13 deliveries. Pakistan are now 110/3 after 34.0 overs.

Yousuf and Inzamam let loose

While India's specialist spinners were able to trouble Pakistan and get their team the much needed break throughs, their part time bowlers allowed Inzamam and Yousuf to undo the damage. The two experienced batsmen took advantage of Ganguly and Tendulkar's lollipop deliveries and are on their way to carving a wonderful partnership. Ganguly, who gave up 40 runs in just 5 overs, was finally taken off and replaced by Irfan Pathan, and Tendulkar on the other end seemed to tighten up his line as well. Pakistan are now 201/3 after 52.0 overs.

Great to see more regular updates. I bet you we're worried with Anil an Harbhajan but il looks like Yousuf and Inzy are going to get you aout of a slight worry. Great work. What level is this on

All matches are played on Test level. I would post more regular updates, but I don't have much time to play the game. I even had to resign from PC Fantasy comps due to lack of time.

Pathan strikes a big blow to Pakistan

The wonderful partnership between Yousuf and Inzamam came to an end after 106 runs had been scored. As Inzamam was closing in on his 50, Irfan Pathan was able to trap the Pakistani captain leg before, dismissing him for 45. Pakistan are now 216/4 and on the backfoot once more.

Agarkar sinks Pakistan into deeper trouble

Just as Yousuf and Afridi were starting to stabilize Pakistan again, Dravid took Pathan and Tendulkar off the attack and put on Kumble and Agarkar instead. This worked well for India as Agarkar picked up both Yousuf and Afridi in the first three overs of his spell. Pakistan are now in deep trouble with Kamran Akmal and Muhammad Amir on strike. Anything less than 400 could spell trouble for Pakistan as this is a batting pitch. Pakistan 275/6 now.

WOW!! I can't believe this stupid thread is still going. Happy to see that it has continued on a better game than that POS cricket 2004. The presentations are getting better too.

Pakistan lose Akmal

India have really used the old ball to their advantage ever since Agarkar's twin strikes. The majority of the overs since then have been bowled by Kumble and Harbhajan, the latter has been spinning the ball three feet at a time. He was able to finally pick up another wicket when Kamran Akmal, who had scraped together a partnership with Amir, clipped one Singh's off spinners into his stumps. At the end of day one, Pakistan were 328/7.

Yousuf praises spinners

Muhammad Yousuf, who seems to have carried on his good form against England into this series, had nothing but good things to say about the Indian spinners. "They made life hard and really took advantage of the corrosiveness of the ball as it got older. They applied a lot of pressure on our batsmen which allowed other bowlers to take more wickets".

Commenting on his dismissal, Yousuf pointed out that "Agarkar likes to keep the ball wide of the off stump which allowed me to score a bit easily, but I got a little careless edged one to the keeper. He really bowled well in terms of consistency, which is what got him the two wickets on this batsman friendly pitch".

Lovely presentation. BLIC is excellent in terms of graphics (except the players!).

You know which team I will support. GO India!
