Following a third day of cricket where Pakistan dominated India through and through, India were finally able to hit back by cleaning Pakistan up. After just a couple of overs in to the first session, Dravid wisely decided to take the new ball and brought on Irfan Pathan and Ajit Agarkar.
After Amir and Inzi had clonked away at a couple of bad deliveries, Irfan transformed in to his old lethal self and did away with both the batsmen. First to go was Muhammad Amir, who chopped one of Irfan's inswingers into his own stumps.
That wicket triggered the collapse the Indians had been waiting for. Just a few overs later, Shoaib Akhtar, who had been patiently defending just about every delivery, went for a slog and was caught on the boundary off of Agarkar's bowling. But the biggest wicket of the day for the Indians was the classic toe crushing dismissal of Inzamam by a perfect yorker from Pathan.
After Inzamam's dismissal, Sami and Kaneria were able to add some bonus runs for Pakistan before the former was runout while attempting a risky double. Pakistan are all out for 387 and have a lead of 468 runs.
Not unlike the first inning, Sehwag started the second inning off with a bang, more specifically, with a bang off Shoaib Akhtar. For some reason, the Indian opener seemed to have no trouble at all reading Akhtar just as in the first inning. Also not unlike the last time, Sehwag's good start didn't last very long. Even though he was able to pickup Akhtar's deliveries from the get go, he was completely flabbergasted when the quickie bowled an inswinger from a different angle of approach and ended up playing the delivery into his leg stump. India lose their first wicket for just 24 runs, and now Pakistan are 9 wickets away from victory.
The Pakistani fast bowler has struck again! This time with a clever outswinger that got an edge off of VVS Laxman's bat and carried to first slip where Danish Kaneria took an incredible diving catch to dismiss the batsman for a 15 ball duck.
Sachin has now walked in to bat, and with Dravid still there, the Indian supporters will be hoping for a big partnership that could give India a ray of hope. India are now 30-2 and Pakistan are just 8 wickets away from victory.
