England experience a mid-inning collapse.

Soon after the drinks break, Solanki was looking to be in great form. Pakistan delivered its first blow to England when Amir finally got through Trescothick as he tried to play an on-drive on a well-placed yorker.

Vaughan was the new man in. Solanki was looking very dangerous and didn't show any signs of slowing down even after Trescothick's dismissal. Amir didn't go away until his 10 overs were up, and Afridi was taken out of the attack and was replaced by Kaneria, and Naved-ul-Hasan was also brought into the attack. This ended up being the best option, seeing as how England lost three rather quick wickets in the next few overs. First to go was Solanki, who got runout trying to get back in to the crease. He was 6 runs shy of a half-century.

Just a few overs later, Strauss, the new man in, was caught leg before by a swinging delivery by Hasan.

From then on, Vaughan and Flintoff made a great effort to resist Pakistani attack, but fell short since Vaughan too lost his wicket as he got caught while trying to play a shot over the fielder's head at mid-on. By the time 35 overs had passed by, England were 153/4. Here are the stats so far:

At the moment, Flintoff (30*) and Pieterson (12*) are batting and have taken their partnership past 30 runs.

England 238 all out.

After getting England stable once again, Flintoff got out trying to sweep Malik for four but instead ended up getting caught by Younis Khan.

After Flintoff's dismissal, the English wickets kept falling while Pieterson kept scoring off of both Malik and Afridi. First to go was Jones, who was caught by Khan at mid-on. Next, Giles got stumped after hitting a four on an earlier delivery.

Wharf was walking back out to the pavillion after playing just a few deliveries. Pakistan were finally able to get rid of Pieterson when he played an on-drive off of Afridi that jumped off his bat and the bowler took an easy catch. England were now 216/9.

The tail-enders had scored just 6 runs in the next 2 overs when the score reached 222 with one over left. Kaneria bowled the last over and got hit 16 runs by Gough, who got runout after scoring a double on the last ball of the over.

Good team effort by England. Pakistan need 239 runs to win this match, which isn't a big challenge on this pitch, so the English bowlers will have to work hard if they wanna win. Seems like playing Pieterson was a good move, seeing how he was the second best scorer in his team.

15 over update: Pakistan fly off to a great start.

Pakistan has made an ideal start to the inning. After scoring just three runs off the first over, the openers made 17 runs in the next two. Throughout the 15 overs Pakistan have been thrashing the English bowlers. Harmison got hit for 24 runs in just three overs!!! If Pakistanis keep this up, they'll achieve the target without a problem. England need a wicket, or five.

Right now Pakistan are 78 without a loss, while Younis Khan is closing on his half-century. Here are the stats after the first 15 overs:

Pakistan win by 7 wickets!!

Both the openers were able to eventually score their half-centuries, and continued to pile up runs for Pakistan. The partnership finally ended with the dismissal of Imran Nazir who got runout trying to get a greedy single. Believe it or not, this decision had to go to the third umpire.

With Nazir's dismissal, English fans saw a ray of hope that was soon covered up by dark clouds as Malik started to show good form as well. By the time 25 overs had passed by, Pakistan was scoring at a rate of around 6 an over. It wasn't until Younis Khan had scored a superb century and Malik with his 50, that Pieterson was brought in to bowl. After a disappointing first over, he was able to dismiss both Khan and Malik in his second over. But it was too late for England to celebrate these dismissals, since Pakistan only needed 16 runs to win the match. Amir and Inzi took care of those runs, and Pakistan won with 5.3 overs and 7 wickets to spare.

Pakistan lead the series 1-0

Younis Khan was awarded Man-of-the-Match for his 109 that led Pakistan to victory. Here are the stats from the Pakistan inning:

Pieterson was brought in as a last minute change and he ended up being the best player from their side. I think England's line-up was a good one, its just hard for any team to beat Pakistan in Karachi.

Pakistan vs. England - 2nd ODI (Lahore)

After a comfortable win in Karachi, Pakistanis were feeling very confident and had a white wash in mind. But Inzi and coach Bob Woolmer made sure that the players didn't go in to play with such an attitude. Overconfidence can be very damaging.

Anyhoo, England won the toss and decided to bat first, hoping to put up a huge target for Pakistan to chase. There were no changes in the English line-up, which makes sense since England performed well in the first ODI but Pakistan were just unstoppable. And of course, Pakistan's line-up stayed the same. Akhter is still injured but should be fit enough to play the third match.

England fly off to an amazing start!!!

After scoring a modest 4 runs in the first over, England blasted away in the second over, giving Amir a beating he won't soon forget. By the time 6 overs had passed by, England were already past 50 and were looking unstoppable.

At this time, England were in command of the game. Pakistan's first breakthrough was taking Trescothick out, who fell victim to a great leg-cutter by Amir.

This dismissal didn't slow England down at all. Solanki was still hitting all the Pakistani bowlers for runs all over the Ghadaffi Stadium. Pakistan were desperately in need of a miracle, and who better to create one than Danish Kaneria. After a terrible first over, Kaneria wreaked havoc in his second and shook England's batsmen up. England lost three very important wickets in that one over. First to go was Vaughan, who got stumped trying to hit Kaneria for four. Then Strauss tried to keep up with the speedy run-rate by hitting one over Youhana's head at mid-on, but was easily caught after playing just one delivery. Last one to suffer Kaneria's wrath was Flintoff, who first blocked a delivery to avoid giving Kaneria a hat-trick, but then edged one off an amazing delivery by Kaneria and was caught by Kamran Akmal.

Solanki and Pieterson trouble Pakistan

After Kaneria's destructive over, England were 106/4. But even this didn't slow Solanki down, and with the help of Kevin Pieterson, he was able to put up another 61 runs on the board before he hit a lazy shot towards mid-on and was caught by Youhana off of Afridi's first delivery. Solanki made 81 runs from 64 balls.

With Solanki's dismissal, things finally slowed down a bit for Pakistan. The next 19 runs didn't come by easily for Pieterson and Jones. In a desperate attempt to score some quick runs, Jones tried to hit one through covers but was easily caught by Imran Nazir. Pieterson, who was batting at 41 now, was in great form but wasn't able to show off his talents due to an unfortunate runout while trying to score a quick single.

A. Giles was runout two deliveries later, giving Pakistan a huge boost. England were now 202/8. Just as history seemed to be repeating itself, the tail-enders ended up making a big contribution to England's total. Between Wharf and Gough, and then Wharf and Harmison, 92 runs were scored in the last few overs. The whole England team was bowled out at a big and respectable score of 294 runs.

England 294 all out!!!

A great total by England. What a comeback after a 7-wicket defeat. Pakistan needs 295 to win this match. Can Pakistan do this?

Here are the stats from England's inning:
