Patch 3 Requests/Wishlist

@BigAntStudios

Oh , and with all the AI/field placement dustclouds swirling around , please dont forget that there is an online portion of the game in need of attention as well .

After AI, online should be the second item on priority list of things to be patched. Online experience has to be made much more stable and error free as this is the mode which gets people to play the game long since they have outgrown the AI.

Just with the whole leaving the ball, I would recommend it being LAS to select movement as normal and the RAS down while holding defensive modifier.

Alternatively get rid of that uppercut shot straight over the keepers head that usually results in a boundary So you can leave with both sticks down and no defensive modifier.

Would solve needing to find a different button to activate a leave.

Maybe not while holding the defensive trigger as that slightly complicates things but I like the idea of RAS down. But that would require great precision, as people trying to run the ball down fine can easily mis-pull the analogue.

Keeper coming behind stumps more captaincy things more real feel... more stats in scoreboard...... more depth in game..... drs like in world cup ...... 3rd umpire interacting with on field umpires....

How can there be more depth unless we get 3d glasses?

So page 109 and we've finally received some concrete information.. I've been playing Ashes Cricket 09 and accused of trolling around here, but good on them for keeping cricket gaming alive, really good stuff.

A couple of questions for anyone in the know.

We've been told that there will be small incremental updates before Patch 3 as they want Feedback (a great way of doing things). Do we know if this will be rolled out to PC users generally? Or is it a sort of closed in-house beta testing thing?

For those of us who have no interest in Co-op play, basically no friends who like cricket or gaming, are there going to be changes to AI to whet our collective appetites?

I've been a vocal basher of DBC as I am just frustrated that such an otherwised polished title has no real reflection of Academy attribute and skill changes, but I'm really happy they are still on board.

Also from BA on Twitter (which answers a couple of your Qs) -
"Expect some involvement from us on Planet Cricket very soon with regards to the upcoming patch."
"the only thing confirmed is online/offline co-op"
"I will get onto Planet Cricket over the next couple of weeks to discuss the details of the patch."

My view in regards to what needs to be patched have changed some what over the last couple of months. My main gripes had been the lack of edges and the far too high number of aerial shots. Now I know these can actually be fixed manually through attributes. The issues I would like to see fixed are as follows:

Appropriate fields for match type and match situation.

The constant side switching of bowlers and the constant field changes.

The issue with left handed spin bowler's stock deliveries.

The lack of difference in turn from a day one pitch to a day five one.

Wickets appearing to revert to their original state after save and exit.

AI batsmen playing flat-bat shots to balls aimed at the stumps/ full deliveries.

The normalisation of skills in career mode.

AI to push for runs more assertively.

still think the edge issue should be fixed for "normal" skilling - we're having to game the attributes, giving players much lower skills than you would expect, when we shouldn't have to do that.[DOUBLEPOST=1432891574][/DOUBLEPOST]but everything else you say @cooks1st100 is spot on, and pretty much my list.

field setting and field changes are absolute must-fixes, they're really really poor.

For the life of me I do not understand how you can play Ashes 09 over this game......

I still would say the random ability for a set batsmen to just chip one to mid on or mid off in a test is still something needing a tweak
