So how will it be?

I know it's not really new, it just looked nice and was refreshing after playing FIFA since FIFA 08, where it rarely happens (heading sucks).

Wasn't it you that said heading only sucked in Fifa 08 PC, but it was really good in the 'NG' version - back in the days when I thought the same game came out on each format (it's an unreasonable thing to wish for, isn't it? :sarcasm )

Ahh Rob, I never tire of your posts lately. This is shown by my willingness to post :)

Its it me, or on those vidoes the defense AI was pretty bad. Do they always let you run free like that?

Also, another quick question. For the download content on this game, would I be able to download the A-League and all their stadiums?

Is Be a Legend the same in PES11? I've just played the first half of the season, leading the assists rankings, 2nd top goalscorer, average rating of 7.7, team top of the table.
Got to the transfer window; no offers from anyone in the top half. Took an offer anyway just for the hell of it and have to go through all the training games, sitting on the bench stuff.
Do they realise that I left a place in the starting lineup with the league leaders?

Is there such a thing as finesse shot in PES2011 as there is in FIFA? I sometimes miss the easiest of chances when I'm one on one.

Also, what's the best patch going around for squad updates, kits, badges, team names, etc?

Thanks a lot, Madman :).

Do you have an answer to my second question, by any chance? I'm looking to start a Master League save and I want to have the best (mega)patch before I do that.

Is it me only who sees that there are only two kits in the Be A Legend mode for all the teams :(

Yup, you can do a "controlled shot" :).

Power up the shot as normal without holding any extra buttons, but after you've released the shot button, tap R2/RT - it trades power for accuracy, they rarely curl like FIFA's finesse shots but they are useful for one on ones and when going for the far corner.

Seems a bit complicated, can I just hold R2 while powering the shot?

What about chip shots?

It seems the way you described it that it'll be a normal shot but in mid air it'll become a controlled shot.

How does Become a Legend compare with Be a Pro in-game? I felt Be a Pro games in FIFA were the most boring and stupid games I've played in a football game. I hated it so much. Is BaL any different on the pitch?

What console are you, Rob?

This still isn't out in NZ yet, I'll probably just get it in around a month.

I seem to remember you asking about a certain type of header (misheading it in the air for another aerial battle?) and I said they were good on FIFA.

From goal kicks/long balls, the heading is probably superior on FIFA (the physicality is used well), but from crosses the players really don't attack the ball convincingly like they do on PES, in my opinion :).

Yep - I was going by the awful heading system in PC Fifa. :) I have scored some real bullet headers in Fifa 11 PC (and the aerial battles are fantastic ;) ) - I'm just glad it's finally a game that can be compared favourably to the console version. I've also just found out that Fifa Manager 11 PC will definitely feature a mode where you can play the whole match yourself - but annoyingly, they don't say whether it's using Fifa Manager 11's engine - which is likely to be rubbish, or Fifa 11's engine. Some well informed members of the EA forum are saying it's the latter. :)

MasterBlaster76 added 1 Minutes and 43 Seconds later...

I find Be a Legend on PES far superior to Be a Pro on FIFA in-game - the CPU's play is much more varied and they actually threaten the goal! On FIFA you feel like your team won't score unless you directly score it, make it impossible to miss or tell your teammate to shoot. Also, you don't get the ball every time you call for a pass on PES - if you are in a stupid position and ask for a pass, your teammates will rarely go and boot the ball to you. You feel much more like an individual in a team rather than the whole game being centred around you, in my opinion.
.

It sounds really good - I just wish they had some BaL in the demo. ;)
