Players who didn't reach their full potential

Misbah ul haq imo.

We saw his batting talent in T20 world cup 2007 but after that he started to fall.

I'd say Misbha's decline as a player since T20 07 WC, has more to do with the fact that he wasn't that good. Rather than him not fullfilling his potential.

I feel Shane Bond!
He was really unlucky in his career.

Abdul Razzaq too!

Jayawarden in ODI as well. his average is only 30. can we called him a class player :sarcasm

Shane Bond's a hard case. Some will argue that during his career he did realise his full pontential but just couldn't stay on the park long enough to put up the big time numbers. Others will then say that had it not been for injuries he would have been a even better bowler capable of consistently bowling 150+

Personally, I've always thought that had Bond not been injured as much as he was he would of been a even quicker bowler during his career, consistently quicker anyway. There was a point in time where I believe he started to bowl within himself which hampered his full potential.

Stephen Fleming had one of the worst conversion rates ever... if he had gotten past the nineties more often...

You could say the same about Michael Slater. His 90s jitters were the only thing separating him from greatness.

Stuart Broad never achieved his full potential in womens cricket before they let him make the transition to the mens team.

I vote this as best post of the thead! :rtfl

I would say that there is a real danger of Kevin Pietersen not achieving his full potential. In the last couple of years he has seemed to become stuck in his progression. He is obviously a great player with a huge potential but is it really devloping further??

He is going through quite a rough patch in his career which most players normally go through, so hopefully he can refind some form soon enough. He is a classy batsman and I believe that he's going to flourish in the next few years. I mean who knows maybe he could produce something like what Ponting/Sachin were able to in the last decade.

Agreed but really good players are still consistent even when they have a rough patch and the rough patches of really good players don't look like the rough patches of other players if you see what I mean.

Pietersen peaked early in his career, there was bound to be a lapse. Hopefully he can reinvent himself, he's class enough to do it.

Maybe if Mark Waugh actually trained he wouldve been better! You have to love his casual attitude, but he was mighty frustrating, so soft on many occasions.
