Dug out my old Pokemon Yellow game the other day. Still had my old saves and everything.

It was more of a challenge :) My first game boy game when I was like 7 I think. The key to beating Brock was to get a Mankey or a Nidoran or a Butterfree.

True as well. Rest of the games of the series have been pretty easy (except Sapphire, I think). Beating the league guys was a piece of cake.

Black is competitive? Or it's easy too?

It's not too difficult. I don't think I had to do much training by myself.

I played the Japanese version my uncle's homestay got for my cousin. Looks nice actually. I like how they have those doctors standing around in places that heal your party. Much easier than having to walk back to the closest city.

Gosh I feel like such a nerd talking about Pokemon :p Still, I find it a lot of fun.

Yea that is sooo handy. The game really utilises the graphical power of the DS well. (I played the Japanese version when it first came out)

I haven't played any of the new games since Silver. Kept adding too many new Pokemon.

Red was the best game of the series. Brock was a bitch of a leader if you took, like most people, Charmander as yourr starter. My strategy was to get a Pidgey - get it to Lv 10. Buy loads of potions and go sand attack crazy. The goedude was blind before you know it.

Crystal was my favourite. Everything from the first two games basically.

Charmander was the best starter because there are hardly any fire types in the game - you have to wait for ages before you get a growlithe/vulpix depending on your version of the game.

Sand attack is a cheap way to kill them :p Nidoran's double kick, Mankey's low kick or Butterfree's confusion were what I did.

Was there an early Mankey in Red? I can't remember. And Nidoran's double-kick didn't work. Or was it its horn attack? Haha, it's been ages since I played.

Silver was amazing. The graphics were kick-ass, and you could still visit the old cities like Pallet town. And you could also take on Ash (Red). I remember when I bumped into him by accident in that cave. Got owned :(

Oh it was only in yellow. Just checked.

Double kick should have worked though. It's fighting type.

Emerald was my favorite. Really loved the battle frontier.

I loved the map of Hoenn, Dive-Surf FTW!
