A Heart of Gold: A Pok?mon Story (Chewie v Iridium v Hedger)

I'm wondering whether I should evolve my Togetic. Not too hard to trade a shiny stone in :spy

Growlithe learns its last fire move at level 48 but I doubt I'll wait that long. Maybe I'll wait till it learns Flamethrower at 34 and then evolve it. In that case I'll have to find some heart scales so I can use the move relearner who IIRC is in Blackthorn.

Oh and I'll need a fire stone as well.

haha, I already have a fire stone. Got one from one of the people who give you items after a while (I mentioned it in my last update)

But yeah, might trade a Shiny Stone in from my bro's Platinum.

A Heart of Gold - Part 10

Ecruteak City
This city had a sombre mood that hung over all the buildings and made it seem a very dreary place. I headed firstly to the Pokemon Centre, where I met Bill. He's the guy who created the computer system for the Pokemon storage so he must be pretty smart. We had a bit of a talk and he invited me to visit him if I was ever in Goldenrod. I decided that I wanted a longer conversation so I went back down to Goldenrod, where he gave me an Eevee! This made me very happy.

I then went to the Dance Hall. Here there was a Team Rocket guy harassing a Kimono Girl, so being the man I was I stepped in. The grunt wanted a fight but he was incredibly easy to beat. One of the guys in the Hall was very pleased with my battling and gave me HM03 Surf as a reward! This would let me surf to places I had never been to before and find even more Pokemon! But I needed to get the gym badge before I could use it, so I headed over to the gym. Unfortunately, Morty wasn't present at the time, so I decided to explore and came to the Burned Towner which piqued my interests.

Burned Tower
There was a huge hole in the floor and through this hole I could see the three legendary dogs! They were so close and I just stared in amazement. There were a couple of guys here, and Eusine introduced himself to me. He's rather obsessed with Suicine and has been looking for him everywhere. The other guy was Morty but he wouldn't leave cos he was looking at the dogs. I went for a bit of an exploration and met Bill who wanted to fight. He was kinda difficult I found, but I was eventually able to beat him. He wasn't very happy. There were a couple of other trainers here too who were a pushover. I decided to go down the ladder to get closer to the dogs. They started moving weirdly before jumping around and out. Suicine stopped in front of me for a bit though as I just wondered at awe at his might, before he ran away as well. I wandered around for a while, catching a few Pokemon, but then there was nothing left to do here so I headed over to the gym, as Morty had left the Tower.

Ecruteak Gym

This gym had a weird puzzle, and was incredibly dark. It was rather freaky to be perfectly honest. All the trainers used combinations of Gastly and Haunter, but were easily repelled by my Pokemon who had moves that were able to kill them in one shot. Finally I got to face Morty. He too uses Gastlys and Haunters, but backs these up with their fully evolved form - Gengar. Gengar is incredibly fast and powerful with his Shadow Ball move able to kill most Pokemon in one shot. Gastly was easily taken care of, but when he switched in Gengar, he was too strong for Croconaw who went down to Shadow Ball. I decided to send in Togetic who was immune to the move who took down the rest of his Pokemon with Extrasensory, a super effective attack. I had my fourth badge! As well as receiving the Fog Badge I got TM30 which was Shadow Ball, the strongest ghost move out there. After the battle I was surprised to see Gastly evolve, firstly to Haunter and then to Gengar! He was much stronger now and I was very pleased with him.

So where should we go up to after Olivine? Lake of Rage or Team Rocket, I'm guessing? I think Team Rocket, since it wouldn't be much up to there anyway and then just do the gym in the update after.

Yea, there's only the routes, Mt Mortar (optional), Red Gyarados and then Rocket Hideout. That should be fine.

I've gotten up to the lighthouse but I still haven't caught a Tauros or Farfetch'd yet. Found a Snubbul though :p Just realised that these two pokemon are much more abundant over the water though so I'll probably wait until then to catch them.

I caught my Farfetch'd before Olivine and my Tauros at the Safari Zone. But you'll get them both easily. They come up quite often.

I haven't seen a single Farfetch'd yet. Seen one Miltank and caught it, saw a Tauros and knocked it out with a critical hit >.<

You can catch them later on guys. A pokedex filling mini-quest. :p

That's what I'm doing. Just catching the Pokemon that come along, not looking for any Pokemon in particular unless I want it in my team. Which is why I'm on the lookout for a Larvitar :p
