A Heart of Gold: A Pok?mon Story (Chewie v Iridium v Hedger)

Actually, I could just chuck them in the daycare and run around for a while up to the level where they evolve and then just use a rare candy or level them up normally so they evolve :p

He's still at school, he's not in the real world yet, of course he's bored :p

A Heart of Gold: A Pokemon Story ? Part 12

It was onto Cianwood City next, so I moved to the west, where Route 40 was, which was a beach surrounded by an ocean.

Route 40

There was an entrance to the Battle Frontier on this route but it wasn?t opened yet, so I had to go over the water. I had a fish though first, and caught myself a Corsola. I then used Surf to move across the water. There were a few trainers now, all using water pokemon so I used Espeon and Jolteon to train them up some more. I ran into a Tentacruel, so I caught it. There was also a patch of sand with an item on it, so I picked it up, and found out it was the TM88, Pluck. I decided that since Quilava was close to leveling up, I would face a few wild pokemon so he would do so, and as he grew to level 36, it evolved! It evolved into a Typhlosion. I was very happy. There was a few other trainers on that route so I beat them, before moving onto Route 41.

Route 41

There were a heap of trainers on this route, all using water pokemon. Jolteon had a field day with them, while Espeon got some good training to. After a while, I also encountered a Mantine, which I caught, although after a lot of trouble, using a fair few balls. I decided to go for a fish before I reached Cianwood City, so I got out my good rod and fished. After I while, I fished up a Chinchou and caught it pretty easily. I tried finding other pokemon there but I couldn?t find anything other than Magikarp?s and Tentacool?s. In the end, I just moved on to Cianwood City.

Cianwood City

There wasn?t much stuff to do in Cianwood City, wasn?t much of a city, I guess. There was a gym though, a pokemon center, a pharmacy and a few houses. There wasn?t even a Poke Mart though. I checked out the Pharmacy first, the reason why I was here. The guy at the counter said there nothing wrong with my pokemon but then I told him about the Ampharos in the Lighthouse and then he gave me the SecretPotion. I then checked out some of the houses. I talked to a guy in one of the houses, who told me that his prized pokemon had been stolen and then asked me to look after his only other valuable pokemon. I said I would and he gave me a Shuckle. It was a pretty horrible pokemon so I deposited it in my PC straight away and checked out the rest of the town. There was nothing in any of the other houses but as I went to the north, I saw a pokemon sitting on a ledge. It was the pokemon I had seen earlier, Suicune. As I moved close to it though, it jumped away. Eusine then came up to me and went on about Suicune, before challenging me to a battle. He had a Drowsee, an Electrode and a Haunter but they were pretty easy to beat anyway. He then said he was going to keep tracking Suicune, and then left. Now all there was to do was to go to the gym.

Cianwood City Gym

I heard that the gym used fighting pokemon and that psychic pokemon was the way to go, so Espeon would be perfect for the gym. The gym leader was right in front of me, but the water crashing around him meant he didn?t notice me. So I faced all the trainers there, beating them all easily with Espeon and after the last battle, I saw a valve, which I gave a great turn and the water then stopped. I then went back to heal my pokemon before I faced the gym leader.

Gym Leader Chuck

I went back and talked to Chuck, who was very annoyed that I stopped the waterfall, and said that I had spoilt his training. After a small chat, we battled and he sent out his Primeape. I decided to go with Typhlosion to open with things, hoping to take him out quickly. It did just that as Typhlosion used Lava Plume, killing it in one shot. He then sent out Poliwrath, and knowing it was a water pokemon, I brought Typhlosion back and sent out Espeon instead. Espeon was very fast and hit it with Confusion straight away. It was a critical hit, as well as being super effective but Poliwrath just survived it, and then used Hypnosis to put Espeon to sleep. Thinking fast, I gave it an Awakening and it was alert again. It used Surf, doing a fair bit of damage but nowhere near enough to put me in any real danger. Espeon then quickly attacked using its psychic power to kill Poliwrath and I had just won. It was a tough battle but I had got over the line to receive my 5th badge, the Storm Badge which allows me to fly to any city I?ve already been to. He also gave me the TM01, which contained Focus Punch. He said it was a very powerful move if it manages to hit. So now I had only 3 badges to get, before I could go on to become the League Champion. As I walked out of the gym, a lady noticed the badge and gave me the HM02, which contained Fly. Now it was time to fly back to Olivine City.

Thinking about it, it's probably more suitable to use a Tyranitar than a Gyrados. Since Gyrados will be super effective (with water) on rock, ground and fire, while Tyranitar will be super effective on rock and fire and also electric. The only downside is that Pupitar only evolves in Tyranitar at level 55.

True, but Tyranitar is beast of a Pokemon so worth it IMO. I'll be looking to put one in my team.

You nerd :lol I still haven't even started playing the next part. Might do that tonight.

Chewie needs to update the index :p

ugh. big test tonight. study. study.

A Heart of Gold: A Pok?mon Story
Iridium - Part 12

Amphy, the Ampharos that lit up the Olivine Lighthouse was ill and needed medicine from the pharmacy in Cianwood City. To get there I would need to cross the ocean.

Route 40
I hopped onto Croconaw's back and he swam out onto the open sea. There were a few swimmers here and they were all keen for a battle. Flaafy was the main beneficiary from the battles along with Alakazam, who I used against the Tentacools which were used from time to time. There was a small sandbar here and on it I dounf TM88 (Pluck). How this got here, I'll never know. Finder's keepers.

Route 41
Route 41, the home of the Whirl Islands. Now these weren't your typical tropical islands. People have reported hearing roars from deep inside the islands and rumours circulate of a large deep-sea Pokemon which makes the islands its home. That coupled with the large jagged rocks and whirlpools that surround the islands made this a particularly unwelcoming place.

Despite the harsh nature of the environment, there were many swimmers here. This would be a great place to train my Pokemon and due to the abundance of water Pokemon, Flaaffy would have a ball. Almost immediately, the training paid off when Flaaffy evolved against the first trainer on this route.

Flaaffy evolved into Ampharos!

And Flaaffy wasn't the only one to benefit. Soon after, my Croconaw also evolved while battling Swimmer Wendy's Horsea.

Croconaw evolved into Ferlaigatr!

Its evolution into its final form showed how far it had come from that little Totodile that Prof. Elm gave me back in New Bark Town. And to cap things off, I even managed to catch myself a Tentacruel (L20).

After defeating the last swimmer, I finally arrived in Cianwood City.

Cianwood City
First thing I did was take my Pokemon to the Pokemon Centre. Swimming across the open sea was a tiring affair and they needed a break. While they were being taken care of, I went to the Cianwood Pharmacy. The man inside gave me the SecretPotion, a strong medicine reserved only for emergencies.

Elsewhere, I came across a man who looked quite distraught. He said a man had come and forced him into giving him one of his prized Pokemon. I had a good idea of who that man was. He feared for the safety of his last Pokemon that he asked if I would look after it for a while. I said I would and he handed me Shuckie, his L20 Shuckle.

I headed north up the beach away from the main city centre when in distance I saw a familiar sight. It was Suicune, who I first saw in the Burned Tower in Ecruteak City. As I approached, Suicune caught sight of me and started to run around me. Just like the the Burned Tower, Suicune stopped and stared at me before running off across the water. All of a sudden Eusine showed up, just missing Suicune yet again. He said that in order to gain Sucune's respect, he needed to prove his worthiness by beating me in a battle. If Suicune was watching, I think Eusine did his reputation more harm than good by facing me in battle. Feraligatr took out his Drowzee with Crunch, Graveler beat Electrode with Magnitude and Alakazam struck Haunter with Psybeam. Eusine vowed to keep looking for Suicune despite the loss and left.

Before I returned to Olivine City, there was one more thing that needed to be done. There was a Gym in Cianwood, which meant another chance to get a Gym badge.

Cianwood City Gym
When I entered the Gym, the Leader was standing directly in front of me. He was meditating under a large torrent of water which was being directed down from the back of the gum via a large chute. I called out to the Leader but the roar of the water was too loud. I looked up towards the back of the gym and saw there was a large valve which controlled the flow of water.

I made my way up and faced some resistance from the trainers there. They were all Black Belts which gave a clue as to the type of Pokemon they used: Fighting. Thanks to my Alakazam I had the Pokemon for the job. However, Alakazam was above and beyond the Fighting-type Pokemon the Black Belts used. Alakazam ran through all four trainers without breaking a sweat.

I reached the valve and turned it, lifting the chute slightly and stopping the flow of water. I ran down and spoke to the Gym Leader, who was a bit miffed that I had interrupted his training. I said I wanted to challenge him for the badge and he gladly agreed.

What followed was probably the fastest Gym battle ever seen. Chuck started off with a Primeape and I sent out Alakazam. Primeape lunged forward to attack but Alakazam was much too fast, dodgin the attack and using Psybeam which knocked out Primeape.

Chuck's Poliwrath was out next and before Chuck could get his orders out,
Alakazam used Psybeam dealing critical damage, ending the battle. In this Gym, Alakazam was unstoppable, and came through all five battles untouched. I was as surprised as Chuck to see how quickly it had ended.

Alakazam - 2153 exp

Chuck was speechless for few moments before breaking forth with a massive grin and deeming me worthy of the Storm Badge.

As I left the Gym, Chuck's wife came and gave me HM02 (Fly) as a reward for beating her husband. I taught the move to Fearow and got ready to head back to Olivine. Fly would help me get back to Jasmine and Amphy in double quick time.

I'm guessing the next part would be Olivine Gym? If so it'll be a nice short section.

I think I'll train my Fearow and Growlithe for a little bit, least until they catch up with everyone else.
