After hearing this game has online save feature I think Ashes 2013 just got bummed

Ashes 2013 is centred around test cricket. And as that's a form of the game that's impossible to play without the online save option, I agree 110%.
I think it's fair to say that first blood goes to big ant. I will still play both. But if ashes 2013 doesn't have online save, I will save myself ?40 and just hire it to see what it's like.

I'm with you on this. Let's see if Ashes13 announce an online save feature for their game.

At last, we have competition between rival companies in cricket gaming. Let's hope it stays that way; it's the best way to improve the gaming quality and boost the cricket gaming community at the same time.

chief has already said there won't be an online feature in Ashes cricket 2013. It sad. After all the things from big ant:

1. Career Mode
2. Player editor
3. Saving Online feature

These features has made this game a MUST buy. I have played 3 titles from transmission/trickstar and have been disappointing all the way. I am looking forward to this game more than anything this year. I hope they have the same amount of depth in their gameplay and have a good feel about overall cricket game.

Too early to make a judgement but competition (usually) benefits the consumer...

I know its too early to make any judgement. However some of the features which we have asked for many years are included, that's what makes this game even more interesting.

We have the commentators coming in for catch up sessions and I will be adding the team names/localities to the list - depending on how long the list is we will see if we've got time left for this.

As far as the platform being used, that will come in time, we have the options of either Steam or the new MS platform.

Not sure if you were asking about whether we could save games that are in progress - yes you will be able to save games and continue them (this request was implemented after feedback on here).

Who are the commentators?

Are you sure that there "won't be an online feature in Ashes cricket 2013"? I have not read that anywhere.

We've already had player and data sharing in our previous games, no idea why save games is such a big issue... but glad that it is :)

PS: Our new tag line - Big Ant Studios, Unicorn Hunters and masters of all things magical

I would have waited to release the game play details before announcing that tag line :p. For all you know, everything may still fall apart if the gameplay and the feel Of the game is not authentic

Nope according to others having a save facility requires ground up Unicorns :)
