We've already had player and data sharing in our previous games, no idea why save games is such a big issue... but glad that it is :)

PS: Our new tag line - Big Ant Studios, Unicorn Hunters and masters of all things magical

If I didn't know better, Ide say you wrote that with a smug grin across your face! :rolleyes

Wow. So you think you are very humble? How do explain the last post on here?

Seriously starting to tick me off now. One for the block lists I suppose.

Ross has said he does not even think this is a BIG thing as you guys seem to be suggesting. But as Einstein said, for someone people everything is a miracle, hence the suggestion of magic.

Edit- Sorry, did not notice your signature :facepalm

Who's being humble?! If big ant have come up with a way to implement a save online feature then why shouldn't they sound smug?!
A lot of people on here have already spoken very highly of this feature, so what they have done is to create a game option that's very appealing to their customers.
Trickstar and big ant are companies at the end of the day. Their goal is to make money. If you think for one minute that both don't want to outsell each other then your crazy!
Sure it's great to have two companies making games for us and I wish them both great success. But being able to offer people a feature that your competitors can't only strengthens your product.

We all know each other and our teams all know each other, we're in the same town, indeed our offices are walking distance apart - don't take any of this too seriously.

It's from one of the teams in the game - I just clipped it from a screen grab - seriously, our game has unicorns in it!
So your avatar is another PlanetCricket exclusive screenshot then - that should keep everyone quiet on that for a while.

Can those sort of team names like that be assigned distinctly from the location team name - so for example could someone choose the location of their Unicorns team and then have it announced as something like the Bendigo Unicorns? Or would that flow poorly and instead either refer to the team by either name randomly or exclusively by location?

I suppose a similar question in regards to commentary names - I know with my last name, Whitehorn, games with commentary usually have both parts individually but not the whole word - can you force the game to join multiple names to help increase the total range at the expense of sounding a bit clunky? Or is my situation of having two normal words in a last name unique enough not to bother?

The team names and mascots are separated in the game, so Bendigo + Unicorns will sound fine in the commentary. As would Bendigo + Kings or Punjab + Unicorns (or any combination of team names, localities and mascots).

With names you're not going to be so lucky, sorry. We have done as many extra surnames as possible but essentially we have gone through the top surnames statistically in each country to help decide which ones to use.

What if you were the Adelaide Super Unicorns XI? Not that I can think of any real world reason to need that...

I'll get on to having a few thousand kids to boost up that surname count then.

Will have more than two slots for team names?
Ie. Could we do Melbourne united kings XI or will it be restricted to location and mascot

There are enough slots to do what you have asked and in any order. ie also United Melbourne Kings XI, Kings XI United Melbourne, Kings XI Melbourne United etc..
