How many of them edges were of a defense shot, i am yet to see one on PS3 or PC.

Not quite an edge from a defensive shot but you might like it.

This is the first test match that I've played on PC version of DBC 14 (Veteran). Going by the number of edges fell short, I can certainly say there's plenty to come!!

u can't edit ur player during career..u'll have to edit the player at the start of the career

If you push R3 (so, the right stick button) before the bowler starts their runup you'll get some information - not all the skills, but handedness, bowler type and their best and worst skill.

Is there any way of knowing the difficulty level of career you are playing in? And when exactly does the difficulty level goes up?

#1 . Is there any way we can call keeper up at the stump when bowling fast/fast medium ?

#2 . Also can I while fielding shout/encourage my bowler ? hehe..don't expect answer for this one but certainly looking for some response on first one.

Try this one :

Always be on front foot and start with some defensive shots and then move to ground shots..Play Casual mode first

Your LS should go towards 100 degree (North East) and your RS should go towards 80 degree (North West), don't bring RS forward with speed but little push will do

The things that improved my batting:

1) Time in the nets, learning exactly how much time you really have to see the line and length.

2) Time in match practise - I set the batsman to very poor, and the bowler to very good, and played one difficulty up (Veteran) from where I play in career mode.

3) Learning that it really is more like actual cricket than any other video game attempt - I have to play defensively early in the innings to get my eye in, before I start trying to play strokes.

4) Don't go for tight singles. Just don't (this may be different on the PC, and I'm hoping will change on the PS3 when patch 2 drops).

How to take catches? Do we have to press the "R" button or move the "R" button somewhere (up,down etc.)?

I have been missing many c&b in my career.. I've been pressing the R button while the ball's in air.. Am I doing it correctly? Can someone help me?

The Right stick or RAS needs to be moved in the direction the ball is coming to the fielder...Too much timing is not important ,just do so when the ball is near the fielder ...In case of caught and bowled,you have to be quick to react...My advice is have the habit of using the RAS after bowling a delivery even if the ball has pitched before ,this habit surely develops the habit of getting caught and bowled ...

One more issue. My footwork is always poor even though i follow the onscreen instruction. What am i doing wrong ?
