Posting Quality

Don't worry, change is on the way. Some will love it, some not. But that, as they say, is life !

Well this must be suspense the way admins like it. I'm sure you guys will think of something good. Personally its the posting in different languages that is a problem but either way PC is really organized and neat and would win hands down on best forum. :happy

Wait just spotted the plan, hope it goes well. The forum that is going to change will be the downloads forum for sure. I'm sure it will go great at the start, maintaining the the level of quality will be the hard part, but I'm sure the mods will do a great job.

I'd actually be a very responsible Admin. For starters i'd just remove the ability to post in the C07 Downloads forum and thus accounting for the 99% of the spam on this forum. The other 1% being me of course. But i'm a newly appointed admin; I can't delete me.

Hmm, maybe not remove all posting in the forum and rather made it that you had to post in other forums on PC before you could post there might be a good idea. We could also have a certain amount of posts you need to make threads/posts.

Holy crap. General Spam's an offense now? I'm screwed :help

Ah well, always needed to take a break off this place :p

Oh, what does this mean for all the Cricsim threads?

I think the same as what it means for the Cricket 07 Downloads Forum

I dont think we should introduce this into the Cricket 07 download forum because most of them are Indians and sub continent countries which dont know too much English. Is there really that much harm in saying "thx gud patch :thumbs".

Well there are levels of spam, if you are somewhat related to the thread you will be fine (in the way that you won't get an infraction), but random posting that is totally off topic and seems just to be for the sake of posting may result in an infraction.

A way to judge it is that posts that would get deleted in the past will probably get an infraction (and be deleted as well) in the future.

I think you will be fine Zorax.

Zim, I tell you, ban all those idiots who think they are the Ganagstas and the HipHop boys on a cricket forum, they have caused total destruction to this place.

:cheers

stevie, what a brilliant job you've done to keep this place nice and tidy.
How about we start with you usy?

Good work with the card system. Seems you listened to my idea. ;)

Hopefully it works. So if you get infracted, do you get banned from posting threads?

See Zim announcement on the points system. You will only get banned after a certain number of point have been accumulated. The ban is the standard ban we have been giving out. No post, thread or PM system.

I think if you get infraction points, then you should be disallowed (In other words, banned) from posting threads until they expire.

Why? The points are the punishment for misbehaviour. Continual breaking of the rules results in mod-preview and then the various lengths of bans. Or do you think that offenders generally have poor threads?

Could you possibly go into more detail as to why you think that?

Yeah if a footballer gets a yellow card he doesn't get sent off, does he? It's a warning. I think this system will work well

Yes, Usy, I've heard it's quite difficult to keep forums cleam. He certainly has done a good job of keeping it cleam. If only we could all create forums like this and keep it cleam like stevie.

@Will- you certainly aren't the problem. Your humour is one of the reasons I'm still here.

I just hope it doesn't get too strict because there is a fine line.

I, personally, have made an effort, in the recent past, to give my posts in the Cricket Chat section a little bit more substance and I will continue to do so.

You don't have to be so clean to spell "clean".

*sigh*

We have just made this rule to cut down on spam and you go posting stuff like that.

I dont think people should be banned from posting threads unless they are trolling with ridiculous threads. Just make exceptions imo.

Generally if someone posts a bunch of rubbish threads they will accumulate enough infraction points to be on mod-preview.
