Posting Quality

Well what I think is that we need better mods in the cricsim section. What I mean is that the current mods just run the competitions and definitely don't moderate the part. TBH, I actually used to delete spam when I was a mod in that part.

The mods will be deleting posts, don't you worry about that.

Also, if you feel that a post should be deleted then just press the Post Report button and someone will attend to the matter shortly after.

The Cricspam forum isn't one I inhabit but here's how I see things.

Just because a subforum has postcount disabled it doesn't make it a licence to spam, post quality should remain at the same level regardless of if the little number under your name goes up or not. You'll get away with spammier posts in NETG because of the subject of the forum, subjects tend to lead to spammy posts as they are games and jokes mainly not because the postcount is disabled. Just because you turn off postcount somewhere else it should not change the way people post in that forum.

If you are posting just to increase your postcount then you are posting for the wrong reasons. Postcount can be a useful indicator to other members on your experience at the forum, it's not a watertight way of telling, but try and think like you are a new member looking for help in say the C07 forum. If you were looking at posts from a member with a high postcount, a good amount of rep and a join date going back a few years you would probably be inclined to trust his experience. It's really the only reason for having postcount and rep, if they are used to boost your own ego then they are pointless.

What is everyone complaining about? Who actually cares about their post count?

I used to type "lik dis wen i 1st got net" but now days I dont see the difference between typing on the internet and how you would write something. Full English on msn, xfire, steam, forums wherever it maybe on the net I think full English should be used.

BANG!

I'm purely of the same kind, i rarely even use "U" for "you" and "R" for "are", and many short words like "ppl, gimme, Y("?").."

Pure english = Quality + Quantity..

Not really, now days (Meaning after I got banned from The Animal Enclosure) I realized that I was being the biggest, spammiest forumer ever. I was annoying a lot of members there, and for what?!? A little, tiny, in-significant number on the side. Because, when I first joined forums I thought that post count was really the only thing that mattered on a forum, but now I realized that they are basically used for the soul purpose that Kev has already posted up in that it is just in a way showing the newer members that you are experienced on a forum and you are a person that they run to when they are in need of help or something like that. So no, I don't really care about what happens with the post counts anymore.

That means deleting the warriors thread. ;)

If this is true, then I believe that my post count is going to move at no speed at all.

Wrong decision in my opinion. I think that with having a post count, it meant more. Now it'll just become like the NET&G forum, but with a bit more meaning.

I know my words won't make the admins rethink, i'm just a lowly idiot. But hopefully fellow hardcore Cricsimers will agree with me to say that the action is reversed!

Post counts only relevance is to new members, maybe trying to find an experienced member's view. If we could ever have it so that post counts are only visible to posters with <x posts, I would fully back it. Post counts are not important. I wouldn't be surprised if we ever get to a point where PC has no post count. It really has no importance other than as a guide to new members.

As for the decision on removal of post counts in CricSim, well, I rarely visit it, but from what I remember people are encouraged to keep active in threads to stay in the team, am I right? If so, then it is the right decision to remove post counting from that forum.

Kev, it seems as though your wisdom has finally rubbed off on someone :p.

You are correct. It was a good decision but honestly I dont think there is any need to delete posts in the cricsim section now posts count has been removed from there.

If people have problems with the quality of posting then don't visit this forum, collect your downloads and mind your business.
Can't be simpler.

I'd have to agree, if you have a problem with a person's posting style then you can either go away and leave it or use the report button. There's no point in whinging about the matter, you usually go nowhere anyway so just let the administrators or moderators handle things.

Yeah right  Last week, you were spamming the crap of out of the vBookie Forum, with just the words "Carn (Insert Name)"

I'm also fully aware I have a high post count, but that is due to me posting in nearly every part of the forum
