The amazing thing about the 2025 Punjab team being that they didn't have super star power. Take away Shreyas Iyer, Stoinis, Chahal and Inglis- you actually don't have many stars. To an extent, the 4 mentioned above are strong players, but haven't attained stardom, bar Iyer, perhaps on account of his DC and KKR exploits.
Punjab played well, but have a few areas where they can improve next year:
1. A good middle order batsman- Indian or foreign or both. This person needs to be slightly experienced. We saw that Nehal and Shashank got bogged down a bit.If this guy is a hard hitter, the better for them- Kane Williamson or Steve Smith in the dugout might fit the role well. In terms of hard hitters, can't think of any at the moment, but if a certain Ben Stokes were to be available next year, they should go for him or Sikander Raza, who was with them for the past 2 years, but failed to make a mark.
2. A supporting strong bowler. Jamieson isnt exactly the man you want running in on Indian tracks. Some one like Mark Wood would complement Arshdeep nicely.
