I am hoping that the Portuguese players don't play like they did against the Netherlands, since they have to think what would happen if they would reach the semi-finals.

And this is England's biggest chance they will for some years to reach the semi-finals of any tournament.

Yeah, I said this before the WC started. He is one of the finest in one on one situations including penalties.

Feel sorry for Carragher; he didn't deserve to miss a penalty. Glad that Gerrard missed one though! Serves England right for choosing a mostly daft squad for the tournament, and depending too much on Rooney. I was very impressed with Crouch today, and throughout the tournament; although he plays across the park, I now think he is a good player.

Nothing seemed to go right for England today. Portugal were too easy to go to ground, they didn't play the game honestly enough. There were some golden chances that we really should have taken too. Wayne Rooney shouldn't have been sent off but the team's performance after that was heroic. I've seen some England flags taken down already. Maybe attention will now turn to Wimbledon.
