Review Retail Version Impressions Thread

Oh, I thought you had it on PC. Anyone going to post some PC stats?

I was tempted to pick the game up on PC, but I've just bought a cooling pad for my overheating laptop and iphone case from Amazon :p So not really enough money now.

Had a probably 4 dodgy run ou in about ten hours of play from the AI. I did have a session were my batsman would only run to half way down the wicket but a reload solved it (been saving every 5 overs since '99 :p)

The only ODI I played was on easy v Kenya so I could get the unlock! Not tried online yet either.

Lol, my mate's laptop is really overheating - it makes so much noise.

I'm 317/5 at the end of day 1, with Cook not out on 138.

North 3/44 (19), Johnson 2/92 (28)

Pleased with the realism when I'm batting, just worried it won't happen when I bowl.

Sensible fellow, so have I. In fact, save regularly no matter what you're doing or which game you're playing, as you never know when your PC will decide to fall over on you. :) For me, the AI's runout bug will not worry me too much, unless it happens all the time (which it doesn't), because I won't mind just reloading.

Phew just finished a marathon 3 hour session.

Aussies managed to get to 364 all out, just couldn't get the last 2 out, but eventually got them just before Lunch (second day) one was bowled and second one was a caught and bowled.

I am now upto tea on the third day, have got England to 483 for 7, hundreds for Strauss and Pitersen, and solid contributions from the others. My thumbs are hurting but enjoying it.

My idiot friend thought this was a good strategy in EA07 so that he could have his best guys at the end when it matters. I used to slaughter him!

Well Like you said your friend was an Idiot you must be able to grind and frustrate the other player by getting some runs of the tail and blocking of good balls. And most importantly if you win thats a good strategy and thats what I did. I won the game thanks to Clarke who was still there at the end to finish of the game. And the guy was playing against used all his best bowlers against my tail. So for me it worked!

yea well my friend would put the entire tail up front, so i would just contain the runs and not try to take wickets, usually by the time he lost a few wickets and the batsman came in, he was out of overs

Currently trying to save the Ashes,

3rd Test at Edgebaston (Australia won the first 2 tests) and I'm 118/9 on the 4th day, evening session, needing 47 runs to win. Am I going to do it?

Prior 18* (47)
Broad 0* (25)

The next top score was Graeme Swann with 23, the rest of my line-up has absolutely collapse due to Johnson, and of all players, Mike Hussey.

For me run rate was never an issue I needed just 4 in over and when I won I had 3 overs to go. But the problem was Simbazz was bowling amazingly with Murali So I thought about sacrificing my tail to protect the better batsman. If I would have lost by better batsman say clarke to Murali chasing 24 with last wicket in hand would have been impossible!

U ll do it just keep blocking :D. Also try sweeping against the spinners that ways you don't get many edges even if you do it goes straight to your pads.!
