Solve your computer problem with the help of experts!

Im not sure if this is a problem guys but after measuring my computer temps after 10-20 mins after bootup i found that they were surprisingly high,

Core0= 62 deg
Core1= 57
Core2= 61
Core3=55

Is this right or am i overreacting. What could be the problem. It doesnt seem to be hot though and runs very stable.

Well what kind of system do you have??
What about your room temperature, what's it like??

Intel core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4GHz
4GB ram
320GB Hard Drive
Nvidia 8600GT 512mb (UPGRADE)
19inch Samsung Monitor
Windows Vista Home Premium & Ubuntu 8.04
450 watt PSU

Room temp is quite warm and it comes with a stock cooler

No, stock cooler won't do it. Macworld, you need to install a 3rd party cooler for that kind of climate.

connection of two hard disk

hi

I have mercury PI945GCM motherboard and I have a 80 GB hard disk that we used to have earlier now I want to connect a 500 GB sata hard disk to this board also I want to add a graphic card to this board.

can i connect both the hard disks at single time or it will not work also which Graphics card do I buy for this board.

Please help asap..

thanks

Yes, you can run two Hard Drives. You will probably need to re-format them, a fresh windows install is never a bas thing.

Graphics cards. Depends on what type of sockets you have available on the motherboard. Google says you have some PCI-E slots. What would you use the graphics card for and what are the RAM and processing speeds of your motherboard?

No point in buying a graphics card which would be above your needs.

------

MacWorld, your PC seems to have a very low powered PSU for those specs.

Couldnt be more right sureshot, it is a stock packard bell computer i bought for ?399. The PSU is very bad and i guess that could be the problem with the overheating.

I turned on my computer and for some reason I keep getting warningwarnings saying loads of files are corrupted on System Volume and my mum's AOL user data. I am running the Chkdsk like it said so it should be solving the problem, what I want to know is how it happened.

Did you turn it off without shutting it down??
Such a problem generally occurs when the files are in use and the computer is abruptly shut down.
A solution could be - delete the contents from the prefetch folder in the windows directory. However, since you say it's fine now, don't delete anything. Keep it as a future remedy rather.

Try a Virus Scan. Viruses these days tend to irritate the user to keep their attention away from it being a virus. That's how they stay for ages and are remotely controlled.

Right click on the desktop, Click Properties
Go to the Desktop (wallpaper) tab. Now see if there is any option of advanced.. (I don't remember.. havn't used XP for ages now..)
There somewhere, there will be an option about Active Desktop.
Un-tick that, and if there are any ticked items in the list, untick them as well. (Better is, simply delete every entry).
click on OK on whatever window is there.

Hopefully that'll solve the problem.
Sorry I couldn't explain better.. Don't have an XP computer with me right now, and can't seem to remember the exact wordings or windows..
