Ok.. Instead of Advanced as I said, it is "Customize Desktop".
Now, in the window that opens, go to the "Web" tab, then uncheck all items.

There is only one item in Web and that is already unchecked.

Right Click on My Computer->Properties. From there click on the Settings Button (there are three, click the one in the appearance and Performance category), select the 'Adjust for best appearance' option in the dialog box that appears.

I need to know if Vista(Home Basic) works well with 2GB of ram. I have a P4 2.66Ghz processor so will it do my job ?

Yes it will work.. shouldn't be a problem. what graphics card do you have? Aero's performance may be a little degraded.

Oh wait.. Home basic doesn't have Aero. You'll be fine..

Not should actually, Will be fine. Honestly can't understand peoples reluctance to switch to vista, as long as you don't have a very crappy system you'll be fine. Unless you just can't stand a certain chocolate based snack...penguins?

So do you recommend not switching to Vista ? I m currently running XP SP3 but as very soon we have to say bye bye XP so I thought of upgrading vista. BTW I have a Geforce 8400GS 512MB GPU so will it be good for Aero ?

Yeah that's right, but the last time I checked those, the registry tweaks only allowed theme changes, the slick animation effects aero brings don't get activated this way.

When does the message come up? Is it random or happens when you open a certain application/file?

P.S: I was really inclined to ignore the problem considering the fact that you are using Norton

Try reinstalling. Maybe some file's got corrupted. Did a virus scan lately?
