The match was dominated by batting. Some good standout players for South Africa were: Surendar Ram, Nic Davies, Ross Mathers, Treva Teague, Simon Barrow and Matthew Roberts.


Steve Waugh had the following to say after the match:? I am happy with the result. I told the lads that they can bat as fast as they want to because I don?t care if we drew. I just wanted to see their ability and the guys did very well.? Our interviewer also asked Steve if Matthew Roberts was going to keep the captaincy. He replied: ?I?m happy with how Matthew did. I look forward to seeing him bowl against Sri Lanka. Yes he keeps the captaincy.?

Hopefully the selectors are not too keen to change the side, as I think my position in the first test could be in serious doubt. 16 balls without a run, thats shocking and a bit too close to real life scores for me.
