Australia have made their situation a tad better but still could do with some big partnerships and the further down the order they need it, the less likely they'll get it. Symonds has started well and will need to bat till the dinner interval in Australia want to post a decent score. They will no doubt be all out before the end of the day which would be terribel for them.

Awesome presentation Shan, a pleasure to read and to look at with good writing and good graphics. Going very well at the moment, hopefully you can keep this going.

At least Australia looking like passing the follow-on :o

Haddin and Symonds need to score lots of runs here otherwise this Test match should be won by South Africa.

Still not looking good for the Aussies, however they have slightly improved.

A slight improvement from the Aussies, but it is still hard seeing them winning this match.
Keep up the good work mate :D

South Africans continue to dominate

After making a very poor start to the innings losing 5 wickets in 28 overs it was always gonna be tough for the Aussies to score runs. Africans were on top with their bowling and they continued to impress even after the lunch interval. Symonds and Haddin both together some runs for the home side which included some boundaries. Symonds was looking under pressure as he faced Morne Morkel and Dale Steyn. After two overs from Dale Steyn which saw a cover drive for a four and a pull shot for four, Graeme Smith gave Jack Kallis the ball. And the trick worked again. Kallis pitched the ball full and wide of off stump tempting the batsman for the drive and Haddin fell in the trap. Haddin went for the drive and got the thick outside edge only be to by AB de Villiers at 2nd slip. Australia's downfall continued as Brett Lee walked in at 79 for 6.

Soon later Morne Morkel got rid of the danger man Andrew Symonds. It took a beauty from the South African pacer to get rid of Roy. Symonds went for the straight drive but completely missed the ball and ball went all the way to hit the top of middle stump. South Africans now were in total control of the match as Symonds the last known batsman in the Aussie line-up departed. Peter Siddle was the new man who was making his home debut. He got of straight away with a shot on the vacant leg side for two. The Australian fans were stunned by their team's poor display and each run was cheered by the supporters. But it didn't take time to see another wicket fall and again it was Morne Morkel who got it. Morkel bowled a yorker and Siddle mistimed the leg glance and hit his pads in the crease and in front of the middle stump. The Proteas celebrated as one more wicket fell and the Aussies were 85 for the loss of 8 wickets.

Mitchell Johnson was the new man in. These two batsman in the middle were capable of scoring some runs and Aussies needed runs badly. But Johsnon could have been first ball out as he went for the drive and got the outside edge but the ball went pass 3rd slip all the way for four. Kallis and Morkel were making it more difficult for the two tailenders to score runs and rotate the strike. Kallis could have got the better of Lee but again the outside edge went all the way for four. The Aussies were very lucky to survive. And finally the first four from the middle of the bat came, when Johnson smashed Steyn through the covers. Australian were in deep trouble at 97 for the loss of 8 wickets at the end of 28 overs and trail by 172 runs.

Australia: 97/8 (25 overs, 1st Innings)
B.Lee: 5(15)
M.Johnson: 8(8)
Extras: 8

Last Wickets
P.Siddle lbw b Morkel 3(13)
A.Symonds b Morkel 20(43)
B.Haddin c de Villers b Kallis 12(28)

Australia trail by 172 runs.

Terrible batting by Australia and it all started because Smith gave the ball to Kallis to trigger a lower order collapse, great idea by the decorated captain. Symonds didn't score too badly but when no-one else is performing you would of needed a bit more than that. Morne Morkel has been utter brilliance.

Fantastic presentation all round Shan and the writing is a lovely thing to behold. Keep this going, enjoyable to read.

Uhhhhh ohhhhh......Not looking got for the Aussies. They need a miracle to get past 150 at this rate!

poor poor poor poor from Australia. South Africa way on top now.

Aussies Bowled Out
With 97 for the loss of 8 wickets, the Aussies were in deep trouble. They needed Johnson and Lee to score some runs and the two batsman were capable of scoring some really important runs. While for the Proteas they needed to wrap up the tail before they started to frustrate them. Johnson who had scored all his runs in boundaries added one more to his name with a leg glance through the vacant on-side for four. But the Proteas bowled brilliantly and got their reward. Johnson went for the square cut but got the inside edge straight on to his stumps.

Mitchell Johnson departed for 13 of 16 balls and Aussies were 102 for the loss of 9 wickets when the last man Jason Krejza came into bat. Kallis and Morkel were excellent for the Proteas by bowling the right line and length and troubling the tailenders. And it didn't took the Proteas much longer to finish the Aussies. Lee hit Morkel straight to the hands of mid-off along the ground and went for the quick single but a direct hit from Hashim Amla meant that Lee was miles away from his crease and that ended Aussies first innings. The Aussies were bowled out for just 102 runs in 29 overs. This meant South Africa had a huge lead of 167 runs .

The South African bowlers were really quite brilliant. Mendis, Kallis and Nitini moreso but even Steyn wasn't that bad with the ball, picking up wickets for quite a few runs. None of the batsmen really got going in the innings and that means the Saffers have a major run lead. South Africa are in control for definite and should go on to win the match.

Brilliant presentation Shan, keep this going.
