Someone should delete this poll :D

The first match of Atletico went well, thanks to Griezmann scoring the only goal.. That Oliver Torres guy also looked nice and promising...

On the other hand, I'm looking forward to see how Rafa is going to use this Real Madrid side, as they name their squad for the opening match , also it's probably the first time Real Madrid starting off a season without Iker, since Iker took over the captaincy...

Big match today for both Barca and Atletico. Barca has made a shaky start to the Season.Hopefully, we'll continue our last season's form against Atletico.

Barcelona to be excluded from La Liga if Catalonia gains independence from Spain, warns league president Javier Tebas
  • Spain's sports minister Miguel Cardenal echoes Javier Tebas stance
  • Regional elections in Catalonia are due to be held on September 27
  • Barcelona fans chant for independence at every home game on 17 minutes
  • This refers to 1714 - the last year the regionhad complete autonomy

Barcelona would not be able to compete in La Liga if Catalonia gains independence according to the president of the Spanish League Javier Tebas and the country's sports minister Miguel Cardenal.

Cardenal has also said that Barca would cease to be a major force in European football if Catalonia breaks away from Spain.

Regional elections in Catalonia are due to be held on September 27 and have been turned into an unofficial referendum with those parties that support a break away from Spain united in a bid to force the issue if, between them, they win a majority of seats in the Catalan Parliament.

However, the majestic forward may not be able to ply his trade in Spain's top-flight in the future

Spanish league president Javier Tebas says if Catalonia get independence then Barca can't play in La Liga

If that were to happen then that would mean no more El Clasico matches vs Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo

The Spanish Constitution does not allow Catalonia to break away and any move to do so will be blocked by the rest of Spain but with months of political wrangling ahead Barcelona's place in Spanish football is uncertain.

The Spanish League president Javier Tebas tweeted on Monday: 'If Spain splits, so too does La Liga. Let's hope we never reach that absurd situation.'

This follows comments from Cardenal made last week on the same subject. He said: 'FC Barcelona would be unable to carry on competing in the Spanish league. It's absurd to think that if Catalonia becomes independent, the club could ask to be registered by the Spanish federation.'

Cardenal went further saying that Catalonian Independence would seriously weaken Barcelona's ability to continue as a European super power with the club's ejection from La Liga massively reducing its income from television.

Nou Camp has often been draped in it's Catalonia colours - including a La Liga clash vs Real Madrid in 2012

Barcelona supporters chant for independence at every home game on 17 minutes

He said: 'The sporting aspiration of the Catalan clubs would be different. Barca, for example, would be a team like Ajax, Celtic or Standard Liege and would be doing well to get to the quarter-finals of the Champions League. It is not an argument based on scaremongering but on reality.'

Barcelona supporters chant for independence at every home game on minute 17 to mark the year 1714 when the region last had complete autonomy.

Many Barcelona fans argue that just as Welsh clubs compete in the English leagues so Barcelona and the city's other first division side Espanyol would ultimately be allowed to play in Spain. They are also confident that La Liga would not want to lose the money Barcelona brings in, and that even if it did, such a lucrative revenue stream, would be welcome in France's Ligue 1.

You guys were lucky to have easy fixtures in the last rounds. Anyway, good luck for the Champions League final. Oh, wait....

Lucky? we faced a team that defeated the Europa league finalists, whereas Atletico Madrid lost to a relegated team.

Tbh, Atletico deserved the the UCL final more than Barcelona did. They have the best defensive record in Spain this season.

Zidane to be sacked in a week. I'd bet on it.
