Sri Lankan Tour of Australia, October-November 2010/11

I'll admit he didn't look good early but once he settled down he looked more comfortable. Can't take too much out of his shots, he was trying to score as quick as possible. The main thing I liked about the knock was his ability to once again perform when the pressure is on, that sort of thing seems hard to find in our Test side.

Sri Lanka dominated the Aussies in their own backyard. I could not believe how easily they brushed aside Aussies. I know its only a T20 but it was the way Sri Lankans smashed the Aussies that got my attention. I see them giving a real tough time to Aussies in ODIs. 2-1 to Sri Lanka IMHO.

I really didn't think Sri Lanka could've won against Australia especially when the match was on a fast and bouncy track that is the WACA. Now that we know that Sri-Lanka can handle pace and bounce, this should be a fair contest between the two and the ODI series will be close.

Yeah the ODIs will be close, but not because of anything learned in Perth IMHO. We learned that Clarke and Warner imploded because they couldn't hit gaps, and that Jaywardene and Sanga are class players. The first 5 overs of each innings really decided the match. Sri Lanka hit gaps, Australia didn't. Probably made 30 runs difference right there, maybe more.

Sri Lanka's best players scored most of the runs and were not pressured to score too quickly. I don't really know where these analyses are coming from, because if they're going to go around doing that in ODIs, it's not going to be remotely close.

It might be close if they have to rely on their middle order, but there was little evidence that one even existed in the T20. For all we know, that middle and lower order batting might swing all the games in Australia's favour.

Yeah Australia are still big favorites for the ODI series. All we need is a couple of quick wickets and SL won't post a big total.

Well that makes it easier for the selectors to pick between Marsh and Smith. Wouldn't mind getting another look at Starc but looks like he'll miss out.

And missed stumping already.

He's a lucky boy ol Huss

Why are Australia playing in this manner? I do not have much knowledge about the pitch where the match is being played, is it a slow track or normal Australian bouncy track?

Srilankan's are really bowling some great overs

Currently, I think we could stand to "rest" Watson from limited overs. He's getting out in the onside an awful lot and doesn't look like getting the runs you need at the start. Haddin did nicely, but he shouldn't be the best chance of a hundred in the top order.

These days, the MCG wicket is best defined as je ne sais quoi. It can be seem bouncy and slow in the same match, or behave differently at either end of the wicket. At times, a patchy grass cover has be blamed for unevenness, but even when it looks flat, it still seems to have something in it for pacemen who hit the seam or hit the deck.
