Netherlands won the toss and elected to bat. Reekers and Kervezee came out in the front and played patiently. They didn?t go after the bowlers as I thought they might, but looked to make sure they didn?t lose their wicket. They were focused and determined and were happy to go around 6 an over. Collingwood, the English captain turned to Broad and Mascarenhas after the new ball pair of Flintoff and Anderson provided no success. They weren?t as lucky either and Collingwood bought in Swann. The reward was instant, as Reeker the aggressor of the openers swept Swann and Flintoff caught it in the deep at the score of 69 in the 10th over. Zuiderent, the new batsman, didn?t last long either making a run-a-ball 8 before becoming Swann?s second victim (caught behind). This bought the experienced R. Ten Doeschate and he bought the tempo of Netherland Innings up by playing some brilliant shots. Kervezee who was going along at a rather slow rate reached his 50 in the 14th over before departing in the next over lbw to Mascarenhas. Ten Doeschate continued his strokes including 15 of Anderson?s 3rd over. He guided the Netherlands to a competitive 140.

The English got off to a positive start with Bopara playing some beautiful drives. His partner Wright (6 of 6) however departed in the 3rd over at the score of 24 after mistiming a bouncer by Nannes. Bopara?s illustrious innings was ended when Nannes fooled him with a slower delivery at England looked in an uncomfortable position at 41/2. Shah (18 of 13) joined the pavilion soon at 54 when he gave a simple catch to Reekers of the bowling Nannes who picked up his third wicket. This bought the English captain and Pieterson to the crease and both started rebuilding the innings. Pieterson went after the bowlers whenever the runrate climbed over 7 and Collingwood played a true captains innings. Their 76 run-stand took Netherlands out of the game and the partnership was only over when Collingwood ran for an unnecessary single. Pieterson completed his 50 and with Freddie ensured England opened the campaign with a win.

2ndmatchcopy.jpg

New Zealand won the toss and elected to field first. The Scottish openers, Hamilton and Poonia seemed to follow the same strategy the Netherlands did yesterday. They got of slowly, and looked to save wickets for later. However Vettori bought himself on and struck. Poonia was trapped lbw at the score of 45 in 8th over. Watson, the new man along with his captain started building a partnership, but could only manage 34 more runs before Nathan McCullum broke through Hamiltons stumps in the 13th over. With the runs coming at only 6 an over and overs drying up fast, the Scottish batsman tried to accelerate, But Vettori and McCullum bowled very tightly ensuring and the Scottish were under huge pressure. Poor running between the wickets didn’t help as 2 more dismissals arrived in the shape of runouts (Coetzer and Smith) Oram and O’Brien bowled very tightly in the end despite some shots from Watson (who was the only Scottish batsman troubling the bowlers) to restrict the Scotland team to very poor 121.

Brendon McCullum and Jesse Ryder got the New Zealand team to a great start. Both played sensibly but at the same time played their shots as well. Ryder was the quicker of the 2 getting 21 of 16 before being caught being by caught behing by Watson. McCullum was dismissed next over when he tried to loft it to midwicket but was beaten by flight by Haq at 56. Guptill was didn’t last long either, at the score of 67, he departed for just 2(8) being cleaned up by Watson. With New Zealand in a spot of bother, Taylor and Oram wisely rotated the strike and the Scotland bowlers couldn’t put the pressure as they were only defending 120. Taylor, now well set, went for his shots but eventually perished at 108 with New Zealand in touching distance of victory. Oram and Styris guaranteed there were no surprises.

Guys how is this font? I think it is mych better then the previous one. Also it would be helpful if someone can tell me the exact font that is being used in the Champions Trophy to display the scorecard.

Another thing I want to ask you is that are the Match Summaries adequate? I dont want to do all the scorecards since Pakistan are not involved in them. If the Match Summaries arent enough then I will try something else.

I have exams in a couple of weeks so please bear with little updates in the forthcoming future

This font is absolutely right Bilal.
And yeah,Match summaries would do for the matches which do not involve Pak as you are doing a tremendous job:banana2
Also, don't worry about the lack of updates and concentrate on your exams.

The font is fine. The only thing I suggest is to make it so the writing (players names, scores etc.) is in the middle of the box instead of at the top. It looks a bit out of place like that. It doesn't make too much difference though.

Australia Vs West Indies
Match 3

Clinical Australia Brush Windies Aside

Australia: 1) S. Watson 2) D. Warner 3) B. Haddin 4) R. Ponting 5) M. Clarke 6) M. Hussey 7) D. Hussey 8) J. Hopes 9) B. Lee 10) M. Johnson 11) N. Hauritz
West Indies: 1) C. Gayle 2) A. Fletcher 3) L. Simmons 4) R. Sarwan 5) S. Chanderpaul 6) D. Bravo 7) D. Ramdin 8) K. Pollard 9) S. Benn 10) J. Taylor 11) F. Edwards

3rdmatchcopy.jpg

After winning the toss Australia decided to bat first and Watson and Warner came to open. Edwards started poorly; his first ball was a wide down the leg-side that went for four. He strayed in line and length and Watson capitalized fully. Such poor was his bowling that his first 2 overs cost 28 runs! Gayle didn?t require his services for the rest of the game. Taylor wasn?t as poor as Edwards but still went for 15 of his two overs and Gayle had to introduce Bravo and Benn inside the power play. Neither was successful as Australia finished the first power play with 68/0. Watson kept the tempo of the innings up while Warner played the supporting role. Pollard and Gayle himself, slowed the inning to an extent before Warner cut Pollard straight to Simmons at gully at 83 in the 9th over. Watson kept the pressure on the W? Indies as he bought up his 50 of just 29 balls and after his 50 went berserk. He was dismissed scoring a career best 83 of 49, and Ponting was also bowled in this over by Gayle. Haddin and D. Hussey were promoted ahead of Clarke and M. Hussey and both started swinging. Haddin?s was dismissed at 9(6) when he was caught in the deep by Edwards of the bowling Taylor. D. Hussey showed us of his attacking talent as he scored an unbeaten 30 of 14 balls where as his brother was unbeaten at 6 of 7 as Australia posted an impressive 178/4 in their 20 overs.

West Indies got off to a horrible start. In the 2nd over their main man Gayle was cleaned up by Johnson Yorker after scoring 3 (of 6 balls) The batting collapsed in brilliant fashion with Fletcher (4 of 4) Simmons (14 of 15), Sarwan (0 of 3) Bravo (2 of 6) Chanderpaul (4 of 3) and Pollard (1 of 8) putting up no fight. 3 of those were runouts while Johnson picked 2 and Hopes and Lee shared one a piece to leave West Indies at 43 for 7 in 9 overs. However vice-captain Ramdin and Benn were not giving up easily as they fought on going after the Aussie bowlers in a 72 run partnership of 57 balls. Ramdin?s 62 consisted of 9 boundaries and a six and he departed when he tried to hit Johnson over midwicket. Benn joined him a bowl later when he was caught behind by Johnson gaining him match figures of 4-18 in 3 overs. West Indies were rolled out for 128.

Its hard to centre the numbers as some are bigger then the others. Also as you have seen the asterisk doesnt help either

Presentation is very nice. Just want to give you suggestion for scorecard. Use the font "Mentone" and use caps.

Yeah the caps were the missing thing. I could sense something wasnt right. I dont have the Mentone font. Any idea where I can get it

India Vs. Bangladesh
Match 4

India Destroy Hapless Bangladesh

India: 1) V. Sehwag 2) G. Gambhir 3) S. Raina 4) Y. Singh 5) M.S. Dhoni 6) R. Sharma 7) Y. Pathan 8) H. Singh 9) Z. Khan 10) I. Sharma 11) R.P. Singh

Bangladesh: 1) T. Iqbal 2) Z. Siddiqui 3) M. Ashraful 4) R. Hossain 5) S. Hasan 6) Mahmudullah 7) M. Rahim 8) M. Mortaza 9) S. Rasel 10) R. Hossain 11) A. Razzaq

4thmatchcopy.jpg

India won the toss and elected to bat. Sehwag got off to his usual start going after the bowlers from ball one. Both Mortaza and Rasel were punished severely. Gambhir however, was runout early on as he tried to look for a triple and a second of hesitancy cost him as he departed of 4 (of 2 balls). With Sehwag in full flow Raina (10 of 8) played sensibly for his small knock picking up singles before he hit one straight Saqibul Hasan of Rubel Hossain?s bowling and India were 54/2. Yuvraj (11 of 13) too started out patiently looking for singles but couldn?t keep his cut low as Tamim Iqbal caught it easily to get Mahmudullah his first wicket in the match. Sehwag?s (51 of 42) brilliant innings ended when he tried to lift Shakib over long-on but Raqibul held a difficult catch in the deep. With India 82/4 in 12 overs and Shakib bowling brilliantly, Dhoni and Sharma looked to build a partnership. Dhoni found his form soon and got aggressive, while on the other hand Sharma kept struggling to middle the ball. Dhoni (31 of 24) finally departed when he tried to clear the fence of Rasel but Siddiqui held another good catch in the deep. Yousef Pathan (8 of 5) and R Sharma (31 of 26; departed at the last bowl) got India to a reasonable 149.

India were off to a great start; in third bowl Tamim Iqbal (0 of 3) was offered width and he slashed it hard but his placement was wrong, it flew to third man where Ishant Sharma took a simple catch. Siddiqui (4 of 4) fell in the next over when he played Ishant Sharma?s leg stump bowl straight to short leg and Gambhir took a great reflex catch. With Zaheer bowling an unbelievable spell of 3 overs for 6 runs, Ishant was whom the batsmen targeted. Dhoni saw that, and bought in RP Singh. He rewarded his captain when he got the ball to nip back into Ashraful?s pads (8 of 12) ending his stay at the crease. Raqibul fell in Zaheers third over when he mistimed his hook straight to RP Singh at fine-leg. Mahmudullah (5 of 7) didn?t last long either; he played RP Singh straight to R. Sharma at cover leaving Bangladesh 32/5 in 8 overs. Shakib (22 of 24) and Mushfiqur Rahim (11 of 8) looked to start a resistance, before being dismissed by Harbhajan Singh. Mortaza (14 of 7) delighted some Bangladeshi fans by going after Harbhajan before being runout. The tail was eventually rounded up in the 15th over by Ishant at 97. Ishant (3-0-30-3) and Harbhajan (4-0-34-2) were expensive while RP Singh (3-0-10-2) and Zaheer (3-1-6-2) were very economical but all of them shared the wickets.
