Stuart MacGill announces retirement.

I don't think Symonds can be a long term replacement. He is good only when the pressure is on the opposition. From what Australian domestic I have watched, Dan Cullen and McGain have impressed me. Even Bailey looks good.

Michael Clarke is a pretty handy spinner IMO, but Australia alwats can't rely on him to get wickets, looking forward to Beau Casson bowling.

Johnson is a left arm quick thats always gunna cause problems with batsman and every now and then if he's lucky he'll swing it, a much bigger threat imo
Where's the big threat? Does he have some unnatural command of luck? Surely every bowler can master this 'having luck every now and then' skill.

hahaha i meant the threat is in that he is a left arm quick which will cause alot of trouble for batsman

and it now looks like Warne is no chance to come back

He bowls allot of wide and loose delieveries and the majority of his wickets come from the batsman playing a stupid shot or hitting a loose delievery straight down the batsman throat.

just watched some of last nights game watched the first 2 balls he bowled and now i give up i agree he is crap :p

edit: both well down leg side, terrible deliveries

Really dissapointed to see such a legend go but I am just so happy knowing Casson is gonna make his test debut!

It might not be Casson. They made play with 4 pacemen with Pup and Roy as the spinners. Could see Noffke or Bollinger debuting.

Hilfenhaus has done nothing to suggest he is ready for test cricket in the past 12 months. Bracken, likewise, has struggled in FC cricket. Bollinger is probably worth a go however.

I'm not convinced on Casson, he played alright all season then had a late burst, whereas McGain was consistently the best spinner in the competition all year. Forget his age IMO, because no one else is ready.

Casson was getting 5fers and 4fers and 3fers at the end of the season and hitting tons and 50's too.
