Might as well get my first opening batsman.
Fun thing to note... I've already gotten players which can give me 16 overs in total in a T20 match, and I still have 4 slots of bowlers to go :)

Yeah, every single league has their own set of challenges. You unfortunately got the one with the most complicated issues
I personally disagree - the T20 Blast has a huge player pool to work from, a surprisingly vast array of overseas players, and the opportunity to properly moneyball the local talent with no constraints as most have never played overseas leagues.

You already have Stokes, Willey and Buttler, plus an extra slot for an overseas. To throw just a few names out there - Graeme Hick, Adam Hollioake, Simon Marshall, Jesse Ryder, Andrew Flintoff, Tom Banton, Ian Harvey, Ed Pollock, Musthtaq Ahmed, Gary Keedy, Liam Livingstone, Alex Loudon, Rory Hamilton-Brown. Not household names, but check out their records if you're looking for a stealthy pick

Tom Banton will open alongside Finch. Played only last season with the Heat, but had some astonishing performances.

That's a great point. I haven't followed the league so I wasn't aware

I'll go with a left arm seamer who was handy without ever getting his deserved run at the top. Creditable match performances never seemed to translate into a prolonged run in the team. There is an argument to be made that at the time the team was not looking for a bowler who exclusively played T20 cricket (even at domestic level he only played T20s). Then again this is the West Indies we're talking about, so perhaps that in itself explains everything.

He isn't that quick, or that deceptive. He is accurate, however, and he does get some late swing under the right conditions due to his slinger-style action. With his range of slower balls and cutters, he can be a handful to face. That accuracy makes him a better than average death bowler and gets him wickets, to the tune of 180 scalps in 119 matches at 17.5 runs per wicket and going at 7.22 per over.

His ability with the bat is nonexistent, but it's his ability with the ball that has gotten him T20 opportunities both in India and in Bangladesh apart from in the Caribbean.

I do wish that Krishmar Santokie had a better run in international cricket.

:ind: :bat: Virender Sehwag
4,061 runs @ 26.89 (SR: 147.83, 2 centuries, best 122) in 159 matches

Sehwag's T20 career didn't get going until he was probably a little past his peak, just because of the realities of when the format caught on in India. Despite that, his impact was huge and immediate. In my team he'll bat at three rather than opening as he usually does - but batting position means nothing in T20; it's all about roles, and he's one of the three guys in to take advantage of the powerplays.

From cricinfo:

"Tamim Iqbal was already one of Bangladesh's most assured batsmen at the time of his 21st birthday, and will be a vital component at the top of the order for years to come. His promise was apparent when, batting for the Under-19s against England at the end of 2005, he smashed 112 from just 71 balls to help Bangladesh cruise to victory. The left-hander is regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in Bangladesh cricket and is arguably the hardest hitter of the cricket ball in the country. His elegance and style through the off side is a treat to watch but his trademark shot is the straight drive, capped with a text-book like follow-through.

Tamim is the younger brother of Bangladesh international Nafis Iqbal Khan and nephew of former Bangladesh skipper Akram Khan. He made his one-day debut against Zimbabwe in February 2007 and was included in the World Cup squad after playing just two matches. His straight six off Zaheer Khan after skipping down the track was one of the best shots of the tournament. He scored a stylish 84 in his debut Test, against New Zealand in Dunedin and has since firmly established his spot at the top of the order. His maiden century came in 2009 against West Indies in St Vincent, a match-winning effort. He then set a national record against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo when he blasted an unbeaten 154 in a tall chase.

Tamim has found England's bowling attack particularly to his liking, and a superb run of form against them in two series, home and away, lead to five scores of more than fifty in six Test innings, culminating in his stunning 103 at Lord's in May 2010."

@Yash. to pick now

I’ll pick Jason Roy....

I’ve changed my mind on Willey opening. Roy would be a better option. He’ll open the batting along with <redacted>

Here’s my team as of now...

  1. ?
  2. :local: :eng: :bat: Jason Roy
  3. :os: :ind: :ar: Suresh Raina
  4. :local: :eng: :ar: Ben Stokes
  5. :local: :eng: :wkb: Jos Buttler
  6. :os: :wi: :ar: Kieron Pollard :c: (As of now)
  7. ?
  8. :local: :eng: :ar: David Willey
  9. ?
  10. ?
  11. :os: :afg: :bwl: Mujeeb ur Rehman

Jason Roy will be my opening batsman. A strike rate of 144 in T20 cricket, although with an average below 30, he is one of most dangerous opening batsmen in World Cricket. If the pitch has a hint of bounce in it, he’ll shred the bowling attack into pieces, NO MATTER WHO BOWLS. I don’t care if he is not consistent enough. I want him to give me an electric start, and I’m pretty sure he’ll give me one no matter what pitch it is. If the pitch is flat, he’ll make 84 from 48 balls, and if not, he’ll get out for 21 off 10. Either way, he’ll put the opposition on the back foot,[DOUBLEPOST=1593372608][/DOUBLEPOST]@Aislabie
