Tamil Music/Movie Thread

Tamil movies are always have been great to watch (though i dont understand a single word)

A Wednesday? Kamal Hasan :hpraise

Unnaipol Oruvan ? Was good. But seeing it after watching 'A Wednesday' was a little boring and predictable.Although one could enjoy watching legends such as Kamal and Mohanlal together.

Not sure how the film is going to turn up,but the trailors are unintentionally hilarious. Its not Vijay's good times these days, but a hit can turn things around for him.And yeah eagerly waiting for VV's songs. Its gona be a hit anyways though.

I have liked his films. His films dont make you think too much but its just entertainment for the duration of the film. Like all these sci-fi films in Hollywood where you watch it just for the special effects and the grandeur. His form hasnt been good in recent times. But the good thing for him this time is, Sun Pictures are promoting his film. Sun Pictures have acquired a sort of monopoly with production and distribution of film these days because of the way they promote their films in the media (you can see a trailor of their film every 5 mins on Sun TV, K TV, Sun Music, Sun News, etc apart from the publicity on their radio channels and magazines). All of their films (except for one Sundar C crap) have been hits so far because of this promotion.

After watching Nasseruddin Shah, Kamal didnt click for me (even though he was almost equally good).

Anyone saw Vettaikkaran and How is it?.
Is it same crap like Villu,Kuruvi,ATM?

Lolz thought of asking the same.Any reviews from guys who've watched the movie?

I haven't actually watched the film but from quite a few reviews I've read about it most of them have said that it has been a 'flop' and is not really worth watching.. Which is a bit disappoining to hear as I was really hoping it'd turnout to be a good movie.

If you are a Vijay fanatic, 4/5. If you are a neutral, 1/5. The movie has been completely tailored for a group of fans that other people cant digest watching the film. If you are among them, DONT GO FOR IT! Its complete glorification of the hero (he even gives advices to his class teacher on the first day at college) and a collage of all his recent films, films of Rajnikanth, MGR, Hindi films, etc. But the film is doing really well in Chennai and with Sun TV promotion, its going to be a hit. One advice though for all people, if you are not a big time Vijay fan, DONT EVEN GO ANYWHERE NEAR HIS FILMS! Thats what he is trying to say. Also about a year back, I was a fanatic of his. Now....???????

Check this out. A small promo of Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya (check out the song bits) and AR Rahman and Gautham's interviews
Rahman releases his next Tamil movie music in London: IBNLive.com > Videos

Just listened to the songs of the upcoming Tamil film "Goa" directed by Venkat Prabu starring Premji, Jai, Sneha and others. Its the same team as the superhit films "Chennai 6000028" and "Saroja". The songs are AMAZING! Really good album. The team of Yuvan Shankar Raja and Venkat Prabu (director) has given their hat trick hit

The songs of "Asal" starring Ajith, Sameera Reddy and Bhavana are REALLY MEDIOCRE! Coming from a big star like Ajith, the album is very average and is of the instantly skippable kind.

Waiting for AR Rahman-Gautham Menon's "VINNAITHANDI VARUVAAYA" releasing on January 12th (also on iTunes). The most expected album in recent times. The leaked song "Hosaana" is mind blowing!

Kya karen (what to do)? here, tamil movies release very very rarely (rajnikanth, surya and kamalhaasan movies release most often, others NO)
