Tendulkar's career seems to be over...

players do take time sometimes to recover from their injuries.look at shane bond, he is 20-odd and had to sit out for more than an year.tendulkar has been playing for 16 years non-stop and that,s bound to take its toll on him.it is only fair that we allow him as much time as he needs to recover.in any ase , we should not dejectedly presume(supporters) or hope(critics) that is career is over.sachin's career is far from over.

i think tendulkar should wait till he has FULLY recovered from the injury
and shud not do the same blunder he did during the bangladesh series.

Every one remembers that.

He will be back though not as fiery as he were.
This time round he'll be a bit subdued and would not go for his shots and will take some time to settle in.
Dont expect him to go thrashing everything round the park.
If he does that then he'll be finished for sure.

We also have to take in mind that tendulkar will be in tremendous pressure after his return to international cricket. Even if he plays a little domestic cricket, he will definitely be rusty.

unfortunately if he does not perform well in a first few matches, then
the media will surely torment him. his situation will be very similar to ganguly
and everyone will be making statements like "the time has come for the little master to retire" and blah blah.

Although, i have a gutt feeling that he will regain the form he had a few years
back. ok, he cant be as good as he was during the WC 2003, sharjah etc
but he can try to come as close as possible IF HE WANTS.

ONLY TIME WILL TELL !!

Good news Tendulkar wants to play like he did in world cup 96 and sharjah 98, but he will find his form and toach again slowly by slowly he needs time and plenty of practice.

I don't think the Great man has passed his used by date just yet. He just has to make sure he is 100% fit like McGrath was. It is always harder for batters in their 30s though as their reaction time is less. But I still think Tendulkar has a bit more left in him.

After the 07 WC is when he should call it quits.

I think Sachin can play till he is 35! He is not an average fielder like Ganguly and he gives more importance to his fitness! Yes, he has got this injury to his elbow but other than that, he is a great believer in fitness. He can continue till 2008! Same with Dravid. Dravid and Sachin can continue well till 2008 and also by that time, they should help the other youngsters in the team mature into great cricketing individuals!

I guess he could, but he definitely will play up to 07. If he has anything to achieve after that then he will continue on.

A couple of guys by the names of Bradman and Waugh made it well past 35...

As long as his elbow let's him. This injury will sort of always be there it won't go away. I think he'll be alright for the WIndies. If he comes back to early with his same heavy type of bat the injury would worsen. It's almost certainly going to affect him.
