Federer what a bloody guN!!!!!!!!

How good were those passing shots first by Nadal and then Federer to save championship point!

woop Nadal, he wins, no-one deserved to lose, just a shame yet another tennis player got shot upon victory. It's a serious problem which needs sorting.

Well this is amazing. One of the best matches ever, like I said beating last year's game. And Nadal is the man to beat now surely. What a game I just cant get over it.

Fantastic match. The greatest tennis you will ever see played.

Congrats to Nadal, the giant has finally been defeated. Too bad I missed the match, was surprising to see Federer lose his serve as he has been awesome with it this tournament.

Congrats to Rafa and more pain to Federer but this does not mean Federer's reign at the top is over, just as many predicted a few years ago when Tiger Woods had a bad run that his reign was over Woods simply bounced back and proved his critics wrong and Federer will also what this has done for Roger is actually a blessing in disguise this loss will make Federer realize what has gone wrong over the past few months.

We all do get that year or few tournaments where we don't want to look back and just move on, this year Fed has had one of them, haven't we all? Murray has had them, even Sampras did...and if it goes on even Nadal will I think it's how much character the player possesses to bounce back and Federer has the character.

As for Bjorg saying Nadal deserves to be number one according to his formula of being French Open and Wimbledon champion...well my friend even though Fed may not be champion of either but he has done pretty good in other tournaments making virtually every semi-final and probable final he could've been in, count those points up and two with two...

Even I'm not having a great game lol apologies to Mr.Bjorg it was indeed Becker who made the predictions

Second set Federrer up by 4-1. Then he blew it as he could not handle wind and fierce Rafa shots.

To be fair, the wind affected both players. And Nadal's shots have always been fierce, thats one of his main weapons!

As good as Nadal was, I think it was Federer's unforced errors that cost him the title rather than Nadal just being too good. He missed some very, very easy shots during the match. The one time Federer broke Nadal's serve (in the second set) he smashed Nadal off the court but he followed it with two poor service games. Summed up his performance really.

Still, an incredible match and I don't think we'll be seeing the consistent quality of passing shots we saw in this match for a very long time. This match took the top of men's tennis to a whole new level.

Has Aggasi retired or will he play farewell match in US open
